Oh, yes, and that.

You should consider publishing that adventure.

Her purchase of Skype for $2.6 billion will probably go down as one of the biggest business blunders of this decade.  I hope the new guy at top will be more innovative, fix the product categories to be more accurate and reflective of niche pursuits, more search options, and stop nickel and diming sellers with fees for things that should be free such as a gallery picture that helps both buyer and seller.  But I wouldn't bet on it... C'mon Google, give us a worthy alternative...

The expected new guy is supposedly hand picked/groomed by Whitman, so I really wouldn't count on it.

He's been cleaning her carpet for years; don't expect much. However....

** expired/removed eBay auction **

I was feeling a bit mean, what with the full moon and all. Anyone want to lay bets that eBay pulls it because of the amended description?

Shareholders are partying...Meg has driven the company into the ground the last couple years, look at stock prices, customer satisfaction, and customer retention (all negs).

The biggest plus is a rollback on listing fees...which seems to be in the cards for later on in the year.  Wall Street Journal recently had an article on the falling of Ebay stock, and listed the raising of the cost burden on the seller (both higher fees and higher percentage from sold items) as being a huge factor.  I do hope they follow through...

I'm all for smaller fees, especially as I'm a pretty small fish in the eBay sea. I'm one of those sellers that makes quite a few sales of $6 or $7 or less, so fees really eat into my bottom line.

The Yahoo article, though, mentions reduced listing fees but increased final-value fees. I wonder if it will all turn out to be a wash?

(Actually, it should be noted that the author was careful to point out that the final word on all this is yet to come).

Final note: Meg W. never did much for me, either, especially these last 2-3 years. She seemed utterly oblivious to the fact that the company had completely lost its focus. But, man, did you see the "billionaire" part? Talk about right place/right time ...

Oh my God! Watch out Mike!  Al was not making this stuff up...

Rabbit-sized 'shrew' discovered
http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn1 ... ered-.html

The Latin designation is Rhynchocyon udzungwensis; however, I propose a write-in campaign by the Acaeum members to help the biologist find a more suitable name.

Perhaps where it was first sited

Tegeloi Manorus

or maybe its first victim

BadMikeus Scaredus Shitus

or better yet in honor of its discoverer

Horriblus Shrewus KillJoyous

Just a thought.

Earlier in the year, my dad told everybody that if the Giants made it to the Superbowl he was going to buy one of those giant big screen TVs.

Of course, we all thought he was kidding.  He's not the kind of "impulse" type guy to do this sort of thing.

It was delivered to his house yesterday.   :D
