Weren't those comics originally put out by Marvel? The whole line is available in TPB although it is a 7 book set. Here's a set of them:

The issue he got with his toy was the first volume of a multi-volume set.

I'd like to get the rest of them for him, but I'm not sure how/where to start.

I know nothing about comics.

Plus, all I want are reprints. I'm not interested in anything collectible.

The entire Marvel Comics Star Wars run, including the movie comics, are available in TPB versions from Dark Horse. I believe they are now out of print; however, they shouldn't be that hard to find. They are pretty nice quality.

Yes, that is it exactly. Whichever toy we got for our son came with "Issue # 1" in above link.

Since I'm specifically looking for the issues pertaining to just the first movie, I'm wondering how to best identify them, especially if the TPB version is OOP.

You just need the first TPB then. The series kicked off with the movie adaptation, after that original stories, it collects the first 20 issues of the comic and was a $30 cover price originally . Even thought OOP, the first few TPBs are the easiest to find. Try www.darkhorse.com to see if they have any others still in stock.

I didn't even bother to bid on the last one as it would have made more sense to just hammer my self in the head with a ballpine hammer, and no I could really careless that all three are different colored covers. Thats right 3 auctions in one weeks time and he won all three. What a f**king dick. :roll:

Is he a print run junkie? Cause you know for damn sure I'd do the same for Judges Guild stuff if it fell like that (have on the Character Codex, but that was two different printings, and the 3rd such auction was a duplicate - all had the same 2nd place bidder)

Well Wisconsin lost against Ohio in college basketball

We are doing damn good though this year, just have to hope for a great March

Maybe, but it doesn't make it any less of a dick move IMO. I view that type of behavior as "hostile" to the marketplace and as a precursor to someone trying to corner the market or to ensure that a certain item(s) goes for a certain price. Those types of actions land people quickly on my "blocked" list...

Sorry to bring anyones mood down. Had a bit of a shock earlier today when I was told an old manager of mine had killed himself. I was only in the store a few hours before it was announced to the staff & was walking around thinking of another colleague who had sadly passed away in December. :/

You have my condolences.

I have had people around me lose people close to them in the past year. I have been spared any direct losses and count myself fortunate.
