Probably better to have put this in the "Interesting Items on Ebay thread".

Nah, better reserve that thread for the brown cardboard box (open at one side) per viewtopic.php?p=57059&highlight=#57059

- or http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0073658837 as the case may be. :)

(sorry, Paul!)

I wonder if seeing that auction result, if Adam doesn't seriously consider selling his one in shrink.  :?

Higher auctions results always have a flow on effect ... lets see what falls out of the tree next.  Its now Feb so we are well past Christmas.  Time to start seeing more rare auctions!

I thought he was still hoping I'd part with the Dragon #11 cover art... sry ^^

@Paul: Yeah, I thought the SW'd copies were staying put, but I don't know whether anyone tried waving $1,000 in those directions.
That said, I ain't seen a better condition one out of the shrink.

(Even if I still would rather have had something more interesting; even for what I paid...).

Depends on whether Brian can find out who bidder 5 was. ;)

Well my actual cover for the set isn't anywhere that nice, but $1000? I could make a serious run at something much more fun than this hunk of fake leather crap.

Hamilcar has a few of these still in shrink I think as well but last year he wasn't looking to sell any of them yet.  This might change his mind.

I am pretty sure Hamilcar was referring to the 10th Anniversary adventure packs not the 10th Anniversary sets.

I will have to check my correspondence with him.  My memory isn;t as sharp as yours Brian

In any case he was adamant about not selling and I have bought lots off him in the past.

Howdy All,

Well I look at it this way: I picked up my black folder PotVQ for $65, Tsojconth for $142, orange B3 for $50, 1st woodgrain for $1,000, Lawrence Schick's staff copies of Lost Tamoachan and Ghost Tower for $400 together, etc., etc. Thus it does not burn me so bad. This is just one of the items I didn't get while the getting was cheap. Thus, I had to pay for my mistake - this time. But as with most of this top-end rarity stuff it is now or never. In two years they might go for $2,000.

I must say, eBay has completely sucked the fun out of auction finales. I don't know who I was competing with. At least I know someone else was willing to pay as much as I for that set.

Futures Bright,

Paul

Beat me to it ... as usual you are quick off the mark.  Get a job ya bum! You have far too much free time on your hands.
