All right who is going to be there.  I know me and my wife are.
Looking forward to the auction on Friday and Saturday night.

Tips:

Registration in Feb 11th, if you want a hotel close by you better register the first day.  GenCon sends out hotel info out on Feb 12th to all that registered.  The good hotels fill up fast!

Hotels Recomendations (my opinion of course)

1) The Mariott
2) The Westin
3) The Hyatt

These will more than likely all be full after the first few days.  They are all connected to the Convention center via a pedway system.  Very nice!!

Games can get you through times of no money but money can not get you through times of no games!!

Shit! How could I forget my drinking buddy.... If you can't make Gencon I will try and get close to WA.  Maybe I can make a side trip to Vancouver (used to live there) and go by WA.

I (hopefully) will be moving back to Indy this summer (transfer to a 4 yr at Purdue) so hope to see everyone here there  8)

If I can get a 4 bedroom house with 1/2 acre I would be more than willing to billet someone. Have to wait and see how the housing market is when I get there.

They are here in Indiana also. $10 for a complete book is a bargain right.

Oh, and we will be attending GenCon. The auction and meeting other members of the Acaeum are the highlights of the year.

I'll be there! Better get your DCC orders in to me as early as possible Please don't till around summer :)

We should make a time to meet this year, or times for that matter.

I already told my wife that I would be going to GenCon this year since I had to miss it last year due to the impending nuptials.  And Badmike is going even if I have to drag him along behind me.

Just as long as he kicks my head instead of my ass....

I will be using my ass, my head may not come in handy on the trip....

GenCon Update:

The former business manager of the Auction, Ken Fonarow (of Los Angeles / Weekend Warrior Game Co.) has retired.

GenCon LLC is considering proposals from others who wanna run things.

Jon Huston (Troll & Toad) is reputed to be making a try for it.
I've also submitted my proposal.
Dunno if anyone else has thrown their hat into the ring.

GenCon's decision should be made by late Feb.

In other news, they decided reluctantly to kill GenCon SoCal. This past one was the 5th (iirc) and last.

Just fine, tho prone to rattle around like dry bones in the vast spaces provided (5000 attendees in a space that could hand 50,000).

The Florida gang will be in attendance… Shawn, Pete, I, and hopefully others will be making the journey north. It looks like we're going to be setting up the Dwarven Forge booth again if everything works out. But regardless we're still coming.

Had a nice chat with Ken - such a nice guy… He was also the one who turned me on to contributing to the David C. Sutherland III artist trust. How's that coming along? Have any student artists received monies yet?

Also, any hints on nice auction items this year Frank?

Mike
