Could someone explain the About Us listing and how it was edited and what it was about...and what the Black Mirror Project supposedly was and how a download for copying pdf's is ominous in some way?

It all went over my head.

Don't worry; it's nothing important.

AboutUs is a Wiki, so anyone can edit it.  Gotta love Wikis . . .

JPipes edited the Acaeum entry at AboutUs.com.

Months (years?) ago, JPipes was exposed here as a shiller and liar by bclarkie.  Jpipes did not take kindly to that and posted bad and threatening posts.  JPipes was warned, the warnings were ignored, and Foulfoot brought the ban hammer down.

I don't know if AboutUs qualifies as a major Wiki, but vandalizing it is the best JPipes can do to defame bclarkie and the Acaeum.

Wiki cracks me up. I see so many people who use it as a factual database.
I started to do the writeup for spotted turtles, but I eventually realized that it wasn't worth putting a ton of effort into, since a jpipes could come along and wipe it out.

So what is the story with the Black Mirror Project?

And I'm sure he thinks that we are all dunces for not understanding whatever obvious explanation he had for choosing it.  The previously-mentioned reason of copying computer files such as PDFs seems the best explanation; at best, it's a weak jab a bclarkie.  Maybe he needs someone to write his defacements for him.

Attempting to salvage something from the last few posts . . .

If you checked the article every day, then it would stay accurate.  Who wants to do that every day for as long as Wikipedia exists?  :x

If changes were vetted properly, then Wikipedia would be more accurate and more up-to-date than a static, printed resource.  Until Wikipedia gets to that point, I'll use it with caution.

  . . . has anyone tried to make an entry for Da Coug?   :D

I did a quick search for cougarrinard and found another forum where they are discussing his...ahem...business practices.

Since I had WAY too much time on my hands tonight, I thought I'd post something for everyone to share. Feel free to use it...didn't somebody talk about a badge (or at least a "banner") of honor?

Big green banner....I don't get it

It's not showing up with all browsers ... in fact, I had to try three browsers before I could see the joke.  :?

It's pretty funny once you get there, though.

when I lived in UK, which was admittedly a long time ago, there used to be a law about false advertising.

Anybody in UK tried that?  Or have things changed?

Well, CSH I like it.  And it's not Windows only:  I can see it, and I'm using Firefox on my Apple machine. :)
