Cougie is no longer using the LPF account (woot! score one for Team Us!), which was the motivation for the first few pages of the thread. That account is dead; it's not coming back.

Any "regular" CougTard antics can be easily posted in the standard Shady Dealers thread. This thread, though, is on a downward spiral.

Yes, all of that is true, but idiots like Cougie play the system to get what they want.

Basically, the problem is this: the micro-second that an auction ends, a seller is charged a final-value fee ... and, brother, it ain't free. This is on top of the listing fee already charged, of course.

So what Coug basically does is win U.S.-only auctions and then say, "Hey, you've already been charged the fees, why not just deal with me? Oh, and if you don't, I'll mess with your feedback."

I imagine a certain amount of sellers just cave in at that point. Not caving in means:

1. Relisting the auction or offering it to the second-high bidder;

2. Getting a neg. from Cougie (followed, of course, by his moronic request for mutual withdrawal);

3. Having Cougie report you for being a "non-performing seller."

4. And, as mentioned, paying fees in the first place.

And, as I've mentioned before, our favorite social retard is quite adept at playing the eBay system ... much more adept than, say, some poor U.S. seller who just signed up to try to make a few bucks off selling some old D&D books. Cougie counts on this. It is a big part of his so-called "business."

The second problem is that eBay has a very neat method for getting rid of this problem entirely, but they have buried it. It's way down in every user's My eBay preferences, and it looks like this:



I can't emphasize this enough: if you're going to sell items to your own home country exclusively, this is the ONLY way to keep foreign bidders away. Just listing "U.S. only" or whatever is not good enough to fight off parasites like Cougar, who know that the eBay system is built to be on the buyer's side of things in almost every way. But if you use that preference, no foreign bidder will even be able to place a bid in the first place.

Personally, I think it's shameful that eBay just buries such a useful feature where most users — especially newcomers — can't even find it.

In the particular case of CougDick, the easiest thing to do is just block him specifically, of course. But the types of U.S.-only auctions he swoops in on are usually from sellers who are just cleaning out the garage or are casual eBayers at best. These poor schmoes have not heard of Cougar, have no idea how to block a user, etc. ... again, it's the sort of thing he depends on. Because he is truly a liar, a thief, and a horrible little man.
