That sucks.  I was watching that auction and had to pass (due to my own problem seller issues...argh!).  Good to know how to block people though (got that taken care of now) in the end.

He got a really nice deal (IMO).

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... %3DSelling

This was my second listing of this Box Set and his bid was the only one.
I suppose he will re-list it in his store for $150 or more and will probably get it too.

After the low final bid ($89) during the first listing, I would not have even relisted it the second time, if I did not need the money for the NTRPGCON in June.  :(
I honestly did not want to see it go for that much.

However, if I had thought ONE DOLLAR more was all that it would go for this time, I would have simply offered it to the highest bidder last time.
At least I know him personally..... plus he is local to me.
What an idiot I am.

Although $90 may be on the low end, I did pick one up (shrinkwrap) for $130. Realistically, how much did you expect to get for it?

You're crazy if even he could sell it for $150 (Is he some sort of magician or something?)

OK.

First let me state that I truly do appreciate all your concerns for me in this case.

Second>>>>
I have never read this entire thread, so I do not know much of anything about all the bad blood between some (Many?) Acaeum forum members and Cougar.
Honestly, not sure I want to know.

He has already contacted me and he says he will make this all on the up and up.
Why would he purposefully screw me or anyone else over, especially after this thread has now been rekindled with comments about this sale?

More to the point... and far more important to me.
Why would I do that?

He (cougar) purchased that listing farily by being the ONLY one who bid on it.
There were over 25 watchers, from almost 100 visits to the listing, but only the one bidder.

I have dealt with him many times (always before as a buyer) in the distant past (LONG before this thread came into being).
And while all those purchases were several years ago, I have NEVER been messed over by him.
Not even once.

I have also dealt with other re-sellers on E-Bay who have thousands of transactions with some VERY negative feedback.

One of them being BadMike, and I would trust that guy with everything I own and not have a single moments hesitation doing so.
Even so, he has some VERY negative feedbacks from a few folks on E-Bay too.

yeah I know not the same thing....

Do I trust Cougar like that?
Of course not.
Never met the dude, but then he has never messed me over either.
Until I get messed over at least once, I tend to ere on the side of trust.
Am I a complete idiot?
Perhaps so, but for now (At least for me) only Time will tell.

And yes, I also wondered why he would buy it knowing the shipping would be more than $40....
I aint shipping it in an envelope, or a sack.... or an M-Bag (Whatever those are).

The advice is spot on and the offer keeps you from losing money.  Perfect feedback is over-rated.  A  neg from Coug is a badge of honor.  Do keep us updated.

I can't wait for your lovely message Coug!

Why does Cougie have his own thread?

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

Just make 100% sure you ship it Priority Mail. That's the only way you can track a package from the US to the UK. Tracking is the only way you can protect yourself if a buyer tries anything fishy through PayPal.

Good luck! :)

if you search under that name, it certainly gives you a few 'choice' looking individuals who may prefer to enjoy the company of the sailors down in Portsmouth, that's for sure!

Just be sure you ship to him with full insurance and signature confirmation. Yes it will cost you a little, but he will lose the ability to claim it never arrived.

Be aware that he will try and talk you into shipping by a cheaper means.

Don't fall for it. Ship it as your listing states.

I placed an encoded GPS tracking device inside the package.
The batteries should last 6 months, so until then, I will know within 12 meters where it is at all times. 8)

Cougar also made a BIN purchase for a complete copy of X-10 Red Arrow Black Shield (Complete with punched counters).

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0342206552

So there were actually two transactions between us and I shipped all the items in one large International Flat Rate box.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0339544346

Both of our transactions went fine and are now complete on all counts.

No fuss, no muss.

Positive feedback has been received and given in both directions.  :)

Pleas read the feedback cougar posted for me. :D

He even offered to send back the GPS tracking device. 8)

Well good for him and you.  Nothing like a little heat to make him behave.  Of course, I don't think most people are conviced he's reformed for good.  Time will tell.

Thanks for letting us know what happened. :)

Ha! That's a diplomatic way to put it.

This latest thing proves nothing; he knew he was being watched. Much like leopards, Cougars don't change their spots that easily. Once a lying, scumbag thief ... always a lying, scumbag thief.

happy 2 prove conspiracy theorists wrong

He was gracious purely because

he hates Acaeum members
Acaeum members warned you
trying to prove Acaeum members wrong is more important to him than passing on one job

He's very mistaken about it proving anything, however.  His (lack of) trustworthiness isn't based on any 1 transaction, it's based on the sum total of them all.

Just because you make a few trips without your Pinto blowing up, doesn't make it a safe car.
And just because he can behave himself for one seller in a special circumstance, doesn't mean he conducts himself like a human being on a regular basis.

Perhaps I just got lucky this time.
Or, perhaps (as some stated above) he was using me and this situation to make a statement.
I do know he was reading this thread, so perhaps some of you helped me in that regard perhaps without even knowing.

Neither would be my choice as the reason he did not rip me off though.
I prefer to trust folks until after THEY prove I was wrong to do so.

It is one of my quirks.
Or faults if you prefer........
Of which there are simply too many to list.........   8)
