I am currently testing some next-generation spam blocking software on the forum (it sounds catchy, at least).  As such, I'm going to temporarily remove the restriction on brand-new users posting in Collecting General, to see if this system actually works.

I'm quite certain that spambots will be totally bamboozled by this new system, so the only "spam" we'll get is the occasional human poster.  We'll hold our breath.

Scott, I like the idea.  However couldn't you have done something more relevant to this site.

Say, select all images related to D&D ...?

My first run-through, I actually did -- module cover scans.  It turned out horribly.  The software shifts the "focus" of the image around, so it doesn't work with module scans too well.

If another spambot never visits this site, I will be more than happy with dumb pictures of cars and people.

I can't vouch for the Vikings, but I can say this is going to put a dent in the Russian porn and mortgage loan empires.

P.S.  Nine hours, and no spambots!  By now there would have been at least three.
