Anybody know the exact calendar this last one is from? Days of the Dragon? If so, which year?

The first year it came out (1981?)...

Well, I have the 1980 Days of the Dragon and it's not in there, but 1981 is a possible candidate:

Could you guys provide scans of those covers for me please. I'd like to add them to the book I discussed here:
viewtopic.php?t=5010
Then all I need to find is a scan of the Erol Otus, black dragon cover to the 1982 calendar.
Thanks,
Kevin

Edit: Actually, I don't need the 1980 one because I just found it here. http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i14/k ... lender.jpg
Not only that, but it's the same as the cover to Dragon magazine issue 1.
But I did read that Mars has the 1982 one.

Otus did not have the cover for the 1982 calendar but he did have the artwork for December.

I've always liked that Elmore, when I was a kid I would try to imagine what the magic-user was trying to say to the female archer before she let loose her arrow...
But Otus is just friggin' awesome!

My mistake. I was going by these 2 pics I found goole searching. One for 1981 & the other for 1982. Looking at it now, I don't know why I thought that black dragon was by Otus. Are these interior pics?

By the way, thanks for posting those. I think asking for a post of every pic in each of the 3 calendars is too much to ask, so I'm going to try buying them.
It looks like 1982 was a transitionary year for the TSR artists. Otus, Dee, Roslof, Willingham etc., that had all come in about 5 years before to take the reigns from Sutherland, Trampier etc., were about to make way for Elmore, Easley, Caldwell etc. to take over. But in '82, Elmore got the jump with the Endless Quest books, and that calendar cover.

Edit: Searching to buy some, I came across this cover for 1981.

The picture on the right is a Phil Foglio and appears as the artwork for March.

Days of the Dragon 1982 contents

January - Crystal Dragon by James Holloway
February - Red Dragon by Clyde Caldwell
March - Black Dragon by Phil Foglio
April - Green Dragon by Darlene Pekul
May - Brass Dragon by John J. Blumen
June - Sardior (Ruby Dragon) by Jack Crane
July - Black Dragon by John Barnes
August - Gold Dragon by Jamie Graham
September - Bronze Dragon by Dean Morrissey
October - Silver Dragon by Alan Burton
November - Black Dragon by Michael Carrol
December - Blue Dragon by Erol Otus
January(1983) - White Dragon by Larry Elmore (cover art)

Seems like it was the year of the Black Dragon  :)

Does anybody have any opinion on what this calendar might sell for on eBay?

Yes, that's a great pic! I can't believe I never saw it before, but it's a nice treat now to see a "new" color Otus. Thanks for posting it Jason.

Does everyone know that you can use 1982 calendars again in 2010? And 1981 in 2009, and 1980 in 2008.

As for Ebay value, I don't have a good idea b/c I only became aware of these recently. I see one 1982 calendar on Ebay right now with a $10 BIN, but it looks ragged and has some writing:

Nobleknight has some copies of each calendar. Generally, the better copies (some in shrink) seem to be priced at ~$18-20 and the others for less.

Thanks zhowar,

The next time I list items on eBay I'll probably list it along with a bunch of LOTR calendars from the same era (Hildebrandt mostly).

I'll make sure I drop a note about it in classifieds in case anybody is interested.

As you know, White Dragons are more vulnerable to fire and explosions than to cold based attacks.

And at least in my games, Cold damage would be halved at best, so no damage should be expected from anything cold. So I truly doubt that the robed one was suggesting that she drop the bow and make snowballs instead.

Her outfit seems to indicate that she has a certain amount of resistance to cold. Her summer outfit must be a chainmail bikini!   :P

Anybody know the exact calendar this last one is from? Days of the Dragon? If so, which year?

Also, anybody have any of the NK scans for the Roslof Monster Cards art? I didn't snag them before they were sold (especially the Sylph - wish I had the original; I shouldn't have hesitated on buying...)

I was perusing through this thread and just wondering if you had purchased this Dungeon art from Noble Knight way back when (I know the Days of the Dragon is in Scribe's hands). I thought I had seen preliminary work on the Dungeon covers at some point before, but I couldn't quite place where. Also, what were the second and third images above since they're not linked any longer?
