Here is a gamble that I took based off the sellers description and man it paid off nicely:

** expired/removed eBay auction **

1st print and man is it a great copy. :D

Here is another item that I picked up, that I think I did pretty good on, although my knowledge of miniatures is extremely limited so I could be wrong:

** expired/removed eBay auction **

Was this in fact a good pick up?

Hi BClarkie,

Not that I claim to be an expert, but IMO that is in fact a very nice find.  Single Dungeon Dwellers in unopened blisters often go for that much.

Here's a nice little surprise.  On top of the item itself, which is pretty nice, there was a 2nd print T1 tucked inside:

Plus free shipping!   :D

I think I got rather lucky getting the chess set for $990, considering the last time it was up the second place bid was $1210.    If only I'd gotten as lucky on deadlord's Wee Warriors items.

I'm just back from NYC, where I found a $3 softcover copy of Heroic Worlds (used in VGC).

This book is as good as I've frequently heard here at the Acaeum. The product lists are comprehensive, well-organized (by genre) and have well-written capsule reviews of each product. There are a nice quantity of illustrations recycled from covered products (with permission). For example, Tramp's Lizardman from the Monster Manual squats threateningly at the top of page 104. The short essays are a real treat (by EGG, Greg Stafford, Ken St. Andre, Dave Arneson, Tom Moldvay, Sandy Peterson, Paul Jacquays and others). Law Schick's intro covers the history of RPGs, starting with Dave Wesely's "Braunsteins" which have been discussed in this Acaeum thread:

Heroic Worlds is a fine record and I wish it could be updated.  There could be even more essays and musings by creative minds and a more logical organization to the data.

could quite easily be one of them books that you could update yearly and make some pretty decent money from imo.

i must get around to getting one to read one of these days.

Nice one, Brian.  It looks pretty good, but personally, I would never buy anything once owned by Thomas Brown.

Great price though!   :D

These came this morning - GW softback MM & PH - both are in quite decent condition. PH goes in the collection (only need a DMG now!) and the MM goes for sale - anyone interested before I list it (its a 3rd printing btw)?

You can never have too much of something you didn't need in the first place.
