Just curious...did you get the Alpha version with the MM pages?

No. In fact, it turned out the seller was confused and thought Revised meant "2nd print." In fact, it was 6th+ printing, which is not too bad, but I had some already. Oh well, the hunt begins anew... Some day, I'll find one.

Really, this was my fault and mistake. I could have asked more questions. Didn't pay a whole lot, so I don't really care.

Good scoop!  It should be interesting to see how the recently flooding of these boxed sets effects the price.  Still doubtful if will drop to sub $60.

She has sold two more since sending me that Second Chance offer, and both of those went for well over $120...
I do not think she will offer any more sceond chance offers.
As I said, I was very lucky.

My Kara-Tur overlays have the same code as Mars mentioned: 1031XXX0705

Thanks for that, but now I'm curious about this.

I checked with another friend in town and their set also has the 1031XXX0705 overlays too.

Do you know if there are any distinguishable printing of this set (different logo, etc)?

Asking Ebay sellers about this, one responded so far.  It has the 1031XXX0705 ones so this seems to be a good sample size for confirming this oddity.  Curious if any inserts have dates on them, that'll help some as well.

Prices have gone up since the recent passing of Dave Arneson, however I still think this was a fair price for the condition.  I have other NM ones of various printings but I can always add more ;)

My FLGS is kinda sparse.  But earlier in the day and 90 minutes away I picked up some goodies for a dollar apiece:
  • CB1 (fair condition)
  • CB2 (fair condition)
  • Dark Chateau (grey version, spinewear)
  • Ice Daemon (Dark Conspiracy module, still shrinked)
  • Minion Nation (Dark Conspiracy boardgame expansion, still shrinked)

I don't normally have anything to post in the "TSR Fun Finds" but I picked up a really nice D&D OCE boxed set from craigslist for $100 Canadian and it arrived today.

The guy originally had it listed on Kijiji for $300 and I sent an offer of $100 which he declined and said he already had other much higher bids.  Then a month later he had it posted on Craigslist for $100 :)

Also, I recently obtained a GaryCon T-shirt from Bill Cousino (married to E. Gygax).  He bought one of my Ebay auctions and upon receipt sent me the shirt for free.  Thanks again Bill!  The front is a big TSR Lizard logo.

You could try and get a hold of the organizers and see what's left?  Maybe Frank (exTSR) has the contact info (and/or) could bring some leftovers to NTRPG Con?

I had a choice of Medium or XXL from what was left over so you might be in luck.

Alright! Which one of you scurvy sea-dogs nabbed this one!!

** expired/removed eBay auction **

It originally listed as a 99¢ (?) auction. Then without my knowing, seller changed to a $50 BIN. Somebody stole this one... AND IT WASN'T ME!
