Well, I for one am glad you got it and it was in superb condition.  Frankly I think buying from T&T is a crapshoot based on what I have heard.  Maybe not as bad as some other resellers but bad enough I would rather look elsewhere.

Other than T&T's pricing I've never had any problems with them. I've bought a number of their much less expensive items and always found the condition exactly as described.

They may suck, but that DG was an absolute steal.

It was a steal, I even paid for overnight shipping just to make sure it was real.   :)

Question is now what :?:   It was one of the last items I needed.  It may be years before I pick up a first chainmail or incredibly rare Doomsday book :?

You'd do quite a bit of damage to your hand if you used it.

Bah...if I didnt know any better, I'd say Canadian beer is made with bear piss.  Which means it is slightly better than American beer, which is made with horse piss.  :puker:

The only people on the planet that make better beer than the Germans are the Belgians....in my not-so-humble opinion.     The Canadians make a pretty decent whiskey though.     And bacon....cant forget that.  :D

I'm not certain how rare and/or collectible this Warlocks and Warriors boardgame is... but it sure looks like a  'fun find' to me.  I have 4- and 6- year-old gamers-to-be that I 'm looking forward to playing this one with  :)

Any other introduction-to-rpgs/fantasy games you've played with youngsters?

Speaking of Dungeon it is indeed a VERY fun game for those who have not played it.

** expired/removed eBay auction **

I already had a newer version and have played the game with the two older grandkids several times.

(12 and 9 years old)

They love it.

Once we played the game and allowed the youngest to join in.

(He is FOUR).

He won  8O, playing the Elf.

Fair and square with no cheating!

Fun times...........

Now I have a collectable Early Print Set, and at a decent price too.

Seller said its a first print, but I do not know for certain.

I have seen these (With the purple box top) sell at a higher price than I was able to get this one for.

Sweet.

Not quite a 1st print.  I think the printing goes something like this:

1st: landscape box with purple background, plain white back of box
2nd: landscape box with purple background, writing on back of box
3rd: landscape box with white background, writing on back of box
4th: lizard logo, portrait box with purple backgroud
5th: lizard logo, portrait box with white background
6th: wizard logo, portrait box with white background
7th: wizard logo, long box
8th: face logo, long box
9th: New Dungeon Game
10th: Classic Dungeon Game

Also, there are some foreign editions such as the Aussie one by Jedko and an expansion with miniatures for the New Dungeon Game, and articles in Dragon.

This is just from memory but I think it is accurate of what I have observed so far and is only a work in progress.  This would put yours in at around a 6th print.

Thank you for the list.
I suspected as much though, hence my hedging in my post above and I also had a large amount of scepticism as I placed my bid.
That explains how I got this one at just over 20 bucks then.
Still, is that not a good price for a 6th print/edition, or did I let myself get taken?

$20 is a good middle road price.  You can sometimes get lucky and get them cheap ($7.39 for an early print):

But a lot of the time I have seen them in the $30-$40 range too (which has stopped me from collecting a full set).

Somebody had a fun find! :o

http://cgi.ebay.com/AD-D-Forgotten-Real ... dZViewItem

And the seller has some other lots that probably won't last the weekend.  Not that too many of us would find them interesting, but who knows? :)

Truth is worth finding and life is too short to work for money.

That would be me. Sometimes this neuropathy comes in handy (keeps you up in the middle of the night).
