Could turn out to be an interesting copy.  The seller told me it has card-stock covers.

Thanks. Yes, and as to condition, he was quite reassuring about the inside, although he did mention a few spots of rust on the interior of the staples.

My snipe was just high enough, I was hoping that it might remain a wee bit overlooked because of the 'other auction' finishing at the same time.  How LAUGHABLY OPTIMISTIC that turned out to be...

I had to turn in a 15 min early bid instead of waiting to the end... sucked.. but I wasn't letting it get away for too cheap if I wasn't going to get it... maybe next time

Well, no matter what, it seemed like a very nice looking copy. Congrats Steven.

I found an OCE in a thrift store.  I was quite surprised when I found it under a couple of computer game hint guides in a bin.  The box is seriously thrashed, but the books and reference sheets are at least VF.  And when I opened it up, there were 5 books instead of three.  The box held a decent 12th print Greyhawk and 7th print Blackmoor as well!  $12 well spent.

A friend - and fellow Acaeum member - pointed this out to me. So the box is a little whacked, for the price........

For that price, I'd be willing to buy it without a box.

Very very nice condition Petal Throne box set (2nd print?  3rd?) won today by an acaeum member. Nicely done!

3rd - number in top right is the major give away.

I don't have it in front of me, as I've not purchased it yet, but I got a copy of the Dark Sun boxed set (I think it's the revised version, not the original) with the first booklet autographed by a TON of people including Troy Denning sitting in my "stash it away" area at work.  Once I have it, I'll post a scan here in the hopes that somebody may be able to help identify who all signed this sucker; I'm terrible at deciphering handwriting and signatures of people with whom I'm not familiar.

Figured that might be worth a mention in this thread. :)

If it was autographed by Denning, I'd be more inclined to guess that it's the original boxed set.

Does it have a pair of coil-bound flipbooks?  If so, it's the original.

Or, even easier: Original.
Revised.

Received this today:

A 1982 sewing kit by TSR's Greenfield Needlewomen subsidiary. A weird obscure footnote of the era, considering the target market at the time thought of D&D as a form of devil worship.

Does this one mention TSR on the package?  Greenfield Needlewomen was a pre-existing company before TSR bought them so some of their products were not intended for the D&D audience.  The only ones I have seen with the TSR listed on the package are the 3 D&D related ones but I'd be interested to know if there are others.

It's not a D&D-related pattern, but it does mention TSR in all the fine print, including the Lake Geneva PO Box.
