Mars wrote:Just to clarify, are the fold out maps the only thing missing?  At a quick glance the only ones that came with fold out maps are the two DL modules - the rest did not.  I would definitely be more concerned about the condition issues though.

Well, there is a host of problems with the modules. Some didn't have the interior or exterior maps. Two or three were missing the removable reference pages. One of the maps was actually burned (but included?). Heavy rusting throughout all modules and an odor of mold. Heavy use and wear etc etc. They obviously weren't handled or stored well.

Here's what I found after a quick read through:
X1 was missing the hex sheets from the back pages of the module.
X2 had burnt map pages.
I1 is missing the map booklet.
MV1 doesn't have the viewer.
TI does not have the maps.

Let me know if I'm missing something. I just felt that the entire lot was not represented accurately.

The seller did respond and I'm waiting to receive his comments and/or a partial refund. So at least he is trying. :?

Not sure if I've asked this elsewhere or not, but are there any textual differences between the US, UK, and AU versions of the G and D modules (other that regional spelling differences, perhaps)?

I'll have to have a look and get back to you on that one Allan.

Congrats to epershall on the Tamo!  Looks like a nice one, and the price was very reasonable, in my opinion.

As a nice bonus, this copy is from Milwaukee.   :D

And to netrodent on the library poster.

http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dl ... 0106406104

...no bids at all for 6 days 21 hours ... then one small bid ... then suddenly five snipes all crowding into the last few minutes  :D

And to think on this I pondered over whether to go for around $13 or maybe up to $17 - made no difference at all  :D

Isn't that the book from the Conan box set (or, was that your point)?

Yes it is.
But perhaps it is the magazine behind the black book which is interesting?

Yes, that's the book from the boxed set.  I almost fell into the same trap last year.  Someone was selling just the book of research note ...

My last minute bid on the poster didn't even register.  Nice pickup on that.  Although I wonder if the seller has any more of them.  They sold off 3 copies of the 1983 catalog last year.

Well, I received this morning some books I bought IN 2006  :x  at a very low price and I was pleasantly surprised to find a new copy of Fiend Folio and a new copy of DragonLance Adventures. Well, I suppose they would be rated as NM by the more rigorous members of our little community, but I can content myself with that. With that, the collecting bug bite me again and I started setting aside one copy of each original AD&D book again (the original thirteen ones of course  :) ), assumed they are at least in beautiful conditions. I suppose you can't stop

Yesterday, at a local used book shop, I found a copy of Deities and Demigods w/ Cthulhu for $4.

It's not in bad shape, either.  I already had one, but it never hurts to have another.

You should sell it, noone needs more than 2 or 3 copies of Deities and Demigods w/ Cthulhu.  :)

You're right, I probably should.  Maybe I'll post it on the classifieds here.  I'm not an eBay seller ... not much of an eBay buyer either for that matter.

Thanks,
Keith

Last week I won an auction from him for a poster advertising the Wilderness Survival Guide.  Same artwork as on the book cover, but the extends a bit farther than the book.

I'm a bit disappointed that the book is from the Conan boxed set.  That's one item I've not been able to track down yet (I deliberated too long about buying the copy BadMike put up last fall).    Oh well, you win some and lose some.
