I picked this up on Saturday at a second hand store. Original shrink with the original K-B Toys price sticker.

$40 and I felt pretty good about that.

Wow, nice find!

I went looking through old bookstores this weekend and the only I found of interest was a Two Tower and Return of the King mass-market by Ace.  $1 ea.

Still, you want to trade?  ;-)

Congrats!

To each collector, his own:  only you can decide if (a) the glass if half full and you're applauding, or (b) the glass is half empty and you're screaming.  8)

I acquired an Ace FotR not long ago. It doesn't mention LotR, or identify itself as being part of a series (except for an unclear mention of something called Lords of the Ring, buried in an introduction).

That's neat!  I'm going to look for that Ace FotR version soon to complete the 3 book set.

I got my two in Poultney VT.  Where did you get yours?

Ebay, for a cheap price. No deals like that at the moment, but with patience they turn up.

This Bally D&D Pinball seems pretty cool, the ampersand makes me think it's a later edition game ( :) ) but the Elmore artwork is still cool so I figured appropriate to The Acaeum:

Bally dungeons and Dragons pinball | older generation | Kingston | Kijiji

There is another '60s Tolkien book that is being reprinted as an inexpensive hardback & should be released in a few weeks: The Adventures of Tom Bombadil. This not-especially-readable collection of poems is perhaps the least popular of his works, although I might pick it up if it has the original wrap-around cover.

Well, I work for a huge baragain book company and just asked our senior buyer if he's ordered it yet.  I'll be on the lookout for it...

Not recent, but maybe of interest to this thread nonetheless. I received these as a gift inside a Holmes Box in 2000. My latin professor dumped them on me - said if I didn't take them, they were headed to the trash!

W o w.  I mostly get moldy, incomplete items given to me.  ;-)

Congrats on the awesome find/pick-up (even if it was from awhile ago!)
