No notes; though a few years back I brought the copy of the adventure and my character sheet to GenCon, and stratochamp tracked down Ed and had him sign them for me (and draw a small portrait of the character on the character sheet).

I played the magic-user, Elmaer.  My main recollection is that Ed was a dynamic DM; and that Elmaer wasn't high enough level to read the giant magic rune on the floor in one of the rooms.  We played with tournament scoring (though the game wasn't a tournament), and I'm sure Ed was being kind to one of the other players in awarding him first place.   :?

All in all, needless to say, a memorable experience.   8)

Recenty purshased a lot on e-Bay... from a ZERO feedback seller.
The box arrived by FedEx today.

Complete set of First print AD&D books.
(I knew they were 1st prints from talking with seller over telephone and these 3 boooks were the basis for my bidding on this lot)
The PHB is NOT a so-called True First, but the 1st with yellow endpapers...
still about $100 value for that book alone.
Swords and Spells (2nd Print)
GD&H (3rd Print)
Blue Basic Rulebook w/ Lizard man logo (1st Print; F 116-R) not minty and missing a tear out sheet from back (What was it?)
Stacks of other TSR books and maps (about 15 maps)...
Outdoor Geomorphs... (1st Print) 8)

Judges Guild:
15 tan (full size) Wilderlands type Maps that I have not sifted through yet
(Does not count the complete sets listed below)

City State of the World Emperor with the original plastic baggie (1st Print)
Wilderlands of the Magic Realm (1st Print)
Fantastic Wilderlands Beyonde (2nd Print)
Guide to the City State Booklet (1st Print)
Wraith Overlord (minty) with Maps
Survival of the Fittest (1st Print Mono)
The Dragon Crown (1st Print)
Gobs more JG books and Magazines

Late last night I posted an updated list on the Judges Guild thread for fun finds...

The City State is actually a 2nd print.
But there are a lot more 1st print JG books than I had at first thought.

Lo and behold I got into that event, and Ed was indeed the DM.  Ed gave each of us copies of the adventure, which he called Into the Forgotten Realms.  Fortunately, I had the foresight to keep my copy.

So the guy removed the pages from the Dragon issue and had Ed autograph it?

That's incredible.   8O  8O  8O

That's the insert from Dragon magazine, not the original GenCon adventure, obviously.  (Though it does appear to be Ed's signature.)

I hope anyone who buys that understands what it is.

I sent the seller a message on eBay, and he's revised the listing.  Still asking for a lot of money, however, for a Dragon magazine insert, even if signed by Ed.

** expired/removed eBay auction **

Sometimes you are just at the right spot at the right time...

Even if you do not like 4th Edition, you have to admit that was a nice price.

As a collector who really likes almost everything about the original, I purchased a damaged (though complete) copy of this last year.

That purchase was mostly out of curiosity since I do not play 4th edition and I was never going to pay the going rates for a minty one.

I just wanted one that was complete.

I paid more for that damaged copy than for this one... 8)

What is the Logo on the front cover?
Lizard, or Wizard?

There are threads in the forums dealing with sticker residue...
But whatever you do be careful.

I recall I sold my copies of these for about the same price about 3 years ago. Haven't gone up in value since then, I guess.  :)

That is the funny thing about collectibles... Are there today more people collecting said item?  It is almost like a wave effect...

Kids Play Games
Kids Grow Up
Grown Ups Goto Work
Grown-ups - Income Rises - Recapture Youth - Prices Rise
Grown-ups Get Old - Sell Items - Maybe at a Discount
Grown -ups Die - Kids Sell Items at a Discount - or drop them at Half Price Books  :)

The End.

I just used the Acaeum's Logo page and printing Date tables on the supplement data page to figure that out.

Someone went through a LOT of trouble to put those two stes of info together and I have not found any errors in either.

Nice score on the Monster Supplements too.

Have not seen all of those in one listing ever that I recall and I think the price was very low.

tyvm, i was happy to get em for that price:)

And i've started using the Aceaum info as my primary start point for researching, other sites have great info as well but definitely looking here first:)

Very glad I've found such an excellent knowledge pool to draw on with the databases and forums, good to not be stumbling around in the dark so much lol:)
