That's cool.
I still dream of finding a huge lot of vintage D&D at a real yard sale.
People have them all the time down here.
Yard sales, that is, not huge lots of D&D :)

Ran across a couple of these while packing my collection. 3 1/2" diameter, metal, 1" pin on back.

Is this common, rare, or what?
Worth a buck? ;>

I'd buy that for a dollar!

Maybe a bit more if you seriously wanted to sell them ;)

Was that part of a retail merchandise kit?

No idea. Prolly given out at GenCon that year. It's not dated but marked "(c) and (r) TSR Inc.", although WotC acquired TSR in 1997 and the Silver Anniversary items came out 2 years later.

As collectors we know of course that the Silver Anniversary items are the last bearing the TSR brand. Most of them, however, have the WotC imprint as well, so these may be pretty rare, lacking any mention of WotC.

I'll think about putting a couple up for sale. Maybe they can fund Eldritch. ;>

If you have any more of the RPGA pins, Frank, you could do a pins-themed listing.

So in a fit of boredom the other night I was digging though a Buck Rogers XXV box set bought off of Ebay some time ago.  At the very bottom I discovered 6 -7 pages of copy paper stapled together.  First two pages appear to be TSR submission guidelines in small print in landscape orientation.  The remaining pages are double sides and provide space for step-by-step description of a module or accessory submission.  All are completed in very neat hand writing and appear to be the proposal for Module M1.  Regrettably whom ever filled it out did not include the Author Name(s.)  There is a signature that would do a Doctor proud however in its illegibility.  Not sure there is really any value to this beyond historical value but I thought it was kind of neat.  No maps though...

My brother just called me, he's going through a house he bought and it is wall to wall books and games. He asked me about Heroquest, and I told him it's a decent game and sells for a bit.  asked him what condition the pieces are in, and he says " I can't tell, it's in the cellophane". Shrinked, he meant. I'm buzzing down there in a bit to see what else he has there. I'm pretty jacked!

That's what I was thinking. Was the former owner found mummified at his gaming table?

No, the guy was a professor at Harvard. I don't know the circumstances, my bro bought the house and contents at auction. I think the guy might have croaked or something. I'm headed there tomorrow. If he has a shrinked Heroquest, imagine what else he has!

The question is:  Did he buy the house and ended up finding the gaming stuff inside?  or Did he buy the gaming stuff and the house was an extra?
