These came this morning - GW softback MM & PH - both are in quite decent condition. PH goes in the collection (only need a DMG now!) and the MM goes for sale - anyone interested before I list it (its a 3rd printing btw)?

Good like finding that UK softcover DMG.

It's quite rare, like the UK Mentzer 5th Expert set in paperback.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

yes yes I know! (Though you weren't the quickest to point this out - nor even the quickest in the UK(do English guys on this forum never sleep?))

- I think I have the woodgrain one with the Cthulu mention of Ernie Hobbits, still in the original polyhedral shrinkwrap (or possibly not :D)

Gyg, I'm a lot dense today (insert own punch line here  :D ).

I never saw a "softback" version of either book, yet I see references to them here in the Acaeum a number of times.  :?:  :?:

Am I understanding that these two books were in paperback  overseas as well as in hardback, and what was the difference in price?

PH and MM were released by GW in the UK in softback (see foreign editions in the indexes)

http://www.acaeum.com/ddindexes/setpage ... mmfor.html - MM

http://www.acaeum.com/ddindexes/setpage ... hbfor.html - PH

(and why did they NOT release a DMG -I demand one NOW - though I guess such a large book would be even more prone to 'exploding' at the spine than the PH or MM (they tend to be quite worn(!) indeed when you pick them up :D )

Hope this helps

I picked up this puppy:

Very Nice condition.  As a matter of fact if it wasn't for the price tag on the front cover and some light staining on the very outside of the pages(almost only visable with the book closed) this thing would be pushing Near Mint.  The corners are even still sharp. :)

Return to the Tomb of Horrors and The Rod of Seven Parts, in Mint condition, for $20 each.  I was pretty happy.  :D

Congrats on winning this Chainmail, Jeff.  You got it for a decent price.

I think it's under-appreciated as a rare.  Pretty hard to find.  Nice!

Thanks, I never actually seen one before!  I thought it would go in the $150.00 range so I am very happy with it!

The Oz G- and D-series mods arrived today.  Holy crap!  They're in excellent condition!  Much better than I expected, based on the pics the seller sent me.

Awesome!    :D  :D  :D

The fellow that listed these wasn't kidding, all four sets are in fantastic shape...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... :IT&ih=012

The guy also did a pretty darn good job of packaging for shipping as well to protect from crushing, which can be problematic for box sets.

MadMaligor, just a question--how big was the box that all four sets came in?  I see that shipping was listed as media mail, but in trying to imagine the box size it seems to me that the four sets would be about the size of a printer.

(BTW--great find and at a true bargain!!) :!:  :!:
