I think that's what Aneoth is doing right now...he's scanning it into his computer so we can burn it onto disc.

Everyone will be able to have a copy of the Perelman masterpiece!!!

Did Aneoth give the name of who it will go to after he is done scanning it?

Oh.......bump  :)

Will the PDF be available to us over here in the UK?

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

Thanks,

All,

The infamous Jim Perelman PHB arrived in Huntsville today in perfect condition ... um, strike that ... it arrived safely, with no S/H damage or problems.  I'm not sure the word "perfect" should be attributed to this item  :?

I would like to keep it for about a week and then I will ship it to the next recipient.

I'm really looking forward to this.  It should be quite enjoyable ... strike that too ... should be quite disturbing, if the first page is any indication.

The CD is also taped to the inside front.  I'll make a copy of it as well.

Thanks,
Keith

That was fast!  Err, I mean fast from the time Aneoth sent it to you...not since the time I got it from Kosh....oh well.  Remember to sign the back page and make an annotation.  Also, props to Aneoth for the pdf copy of the infamous book!!!

Is there anyway I could get a copy of that CD.  I would love to read what Mr. Perelman had to say about AD&D.  I would of course pay all duplication and shipping costs.  Please PM me if interested.

After having the chance to sit down and read this, I agree with Badmike.  This kid was angry.

When you see it, you'll understand.  The flyleaves are covered, top to bottom, with his "editorial" to EGG.

While parts of it are typical of a 13-year-old -- "I've seen better heads on a zit" -- I found other aspects to be downright scary.

Any individual rant, taken alone, isn't so bad.  But in toto this "letter" really creeps me out.

His close ("yours truly") makes me wonder whether he photocopied this and mailed it to TSR or perhaps to Gygax himself.

Funny thing is, I've know guys like this all my life.  They expend way too much energy on almost everything they do when they are younger, going nuts off stuff, full of spit, vineger, righteous anger, etc; until they either burn out or learn to relax.  I would bet you almost anything that if you ran into this dude now, not only would he not remember ever playing D&D, he wouldn't even remember penning the infamous rant.  That or he died in a road rage incident.

Wonder if all of that writing was done all at once, or over a period of months or years?

Is there any way us peeps over in the UK can get a copy of the CD? I'd be more than happy to copy and distribute for the UK members, and I'm sure other UK members would be willing to do the same.

We've followed the thread, but we want to read the editorial as well.

Could someone send a copy over to someone in the UK?

It looks like he wrote it over a fairly short period of time ... maybe one sitting, maybe 3 or 4 short bursts, like machine gun fire  8O

Keith has been kind enough to send me a copy of the CD. It should be here next week. So for our UK collectors who want to read some of these pearls of wisdom, PM me your address with the subject 'CD Perelman' and I'll burn and mail out copies.

So who gets the PHB next?

From the thread, it looks like it might be FormCritic (Mark), but I'm not sure.

Let me know and I'll send it out ... probably Friday.

Thanks,
Keith
