It will be shipping time. Sea mail generally takes 2-4 months, air mail 5-7 days. I recieved air mail from the states no problem, the hold up may be sea mail stuff... I don't mind shipping it out airmail to somewere... it is 4 odd months to Aussie gencon, so thats plenty of time to zip overseas and back...

Xaxaxe wrote:Was that shipping time, or was the book stuck in the Customs shed? Combination of both?

Didn't I read here that Aussie Customs officials had changed some rules and slowed the process down? Or that there's a backlog of stuff trying to get through?

I'm glad everything worked out, but, man, that book could have swam there in four months.

Yeah, I'd say it's just the shipping time via seamail.

I'll be at OzCon this year so if we work it out right I can collect it again there to take (hopefully) to Gencon.

I can send it to Mike (MDR003) first as he's not going to OzCon (or are you?)

I've got accommodation with a relative if you need it (-- tries to lure away again from new born... )

Then if the last person brings it to OzCon it's about a month from there to Gencon. Or is that too long?

You guys do realize there's a down side to the book?.........................

Trying to pick the right quote for the back page..

Thanks Brendon - definately no OzCon for me unfortunately. Maybe next year.

Looking forward to seeing the book. Who wants it next - Hermit?

Mike

If the book gets back to the U.S. in time for Gencon, has it been suggested that it be shown to a certain E.G.G.--if he's there--for his take on THE BOOK?

I honestly think it would just confuse the hell out of EGG.......the backstory would take so long to set up I don't know if it would be worth it.....

I mentioned this in one of the other threads about the book.  Why in the world would anyone show Gygax this book?  Even though it is 30 years later I am pretty sure that I wouldnt want to read a bunch of negative comments about something that I created.  He might be fine with it and get a chuckle out of it....but he also might have an aneurysm.

Now....having him autograph it and be oblivious of the commentary would be extremely comical in my opinion.  Kind of like the scene from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade where Hitler autographs the Joneses grail diary.

I have it - thanks Brendon! I read through it over the weekend, and was mightily impressed with Jim's rant.

I'll add a comment in the back - who wants it next? Beaster? Hermit?

Regards

Mike

Ahh, it would have amused him a great deal.

Hi Kosh -

I have it at the moment. It's still in Australia and as far as I know Brendon (addermcone) has seen it and now its with me.

I posted a couple of times looking to see who wants it next, but didn't get any response. If any members in Australia want a look, let me know via PM - otherwise I guess I'll send it back to the USA.

Regards

Mike
