ciao folks! i'm proud to show you one of my brightest purchase!

(and i'm pretty sure i wont be able to do as well in the future!)

** expired eBay auction **

i just got it on saturday and i'm extremely satisfied for the deal... the item is in superb conditions (maybe i'm not impartial, but i must admit that except for a small damage (it is about 1 cm of wear) on a corner on one map and a dogear on the interior cover, there are no flaws!

of course for that price i had a not-perfect copy...

first of all, for any of you interested, here are some additional pics:

then, here are the "problems" with it (if then we can call them problems!):

1) level I pages are missing (ah, yes! it is a single sided copy!)

2) map 5 is present twice in players version... there's no dm map!

3) intro page (afaik it'd be a yellow page) is missing...

referring to issues 1 & 2, i'll get an aid from a friend of us and i'll be able to patch the missing parts... referring to issue 3 i'm wondering whether it really exists a yellow intro page...  :?

ok, now pls your comments are appreciated!

Well, given that seller's other prices, $200 seems like even more of a steal.

Keep the black folder out of the light and please make sure any copies are clearly marked as such just in case you fall under a bus and your relatives sell off your collection... ;)

I first thought he was joking, but I think he is serious.  Sunlight bleaches color from everything; ask anyone who lives in Texas.

Judging by the photo, the PotVQ portfolio material appears similar to that of the Mead brand of portfolios that were available in the 1980s/90s in the USA --- similar texturing and wear pattern.  Sunlight can bleach the color from these folders, though it takes a long time.  Maybe the darker colors bleach faster.

Congratulations, and do you know how to make PDFs?

Most definitely.  Keep it out of direct light.

Go ahead and send it to me, I'll store it for you and make sure that it stays out of the sunlight.

Yep; "Vampire" by name...

The cardstock definitely does not like sunlight and any fading is going to be very easy to spot. Don't know about artificial light, but I certainly wouldn't risk hanging a copy (even a spare copy) on a wall with spotlighting.

By the way, I'm deadly curious as to whether the price tag was taken off before or after the mod was sent to you.

well, maybe a stupid question: does exist any "spare" copy of this item???  :D

it was off before i got it... in case i could ask the seller whether he put it out or not...

Greetings all, first off I'd like to thank you for the pics I have always wondered what exactly that module and all the "Early-pre-mods" looked liked, are there any sites that anyone might know of that has more in-depth info on "Vampire Queen/Jade Hair/Fazzlewood etc"??? Im mostly a 1st edition collector (nostalgic and fun--not a business), any info--if there is would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Yeah, 'fraid so: it's one of those somewhat rarer items for which I do have a spare (=trade-bait) copy (or two, in some cases) sitting around.
Safe to say that I paid a lot more than $200 in this case!

Thanks. Would still be interesting to know, especially if that had been a TSR sticker...

Short of digging back through the fora here?

Sad to say, there's not a great deal of information around; not even clips from the original reviews and suchlike. More work to be done on Wikipedia as well, I guess?

(aside: Jade Hare is rather later and Fazzle => O1, of course).

Your best bet is to post the questions here.

mines are still open, though!

1) players' map level 5 is present twice, and on the other side of the coin there is no dm level 5 map... is it plausible? could this be a mistake made by who had to pack the item or what else???

2) intro page is missing, could you pls confirm me that it was always present? was it always yellow?

aia, although a LENGTHY read, there's a wealth of detail at this PotVQ print sequence thread:
viewtopic.php?t=1869&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

My take on question 1 is it was probably a packing mistake, although it's unclear with the other anomalies in tandem on this particular copy that all the sheets aren't white copies.

On question 2, it seems that the intro. page has always been present, though it appears both yellow and white copies are found (from reading through the thread above).

Good pick-up at $200!

short update of the open issues:

the seller was the first and only owner of this item! he told me that he found the double map of level 5 already at the time of the purchase... hence it is for sure (or let's say with 99% of prob) that it was a packing error!

for this question i'm still waiting for a reply!
