Hello Aia,

I'm sure some of the Collectors here have written about this before but here's my 2CP - The Labyrinth game is an electronic boardgame for one or two players against the computer.  It consists of a variety of playing pieces such as some adventurer minis, a dragon mini, a treasure chest and wall pieces.  The game is designed such that you are trying to find the treasure with the horrific chance you might run into the dragon instead (game over man, end of story!)  The game is played by moving your piece around the "labyrinth" which is built using the wall pieces based upon different sounds that game plays for you (indicating a wall, a door/corridor, the treasure or the dragon.)  There are no lights just sounds and sound reminder buttons on the side.  Interesting early 1980's attempt at an electronic D&D game.  To those that know better, did I miss anything?

The only point I would add is that this was a licensed item produced by Mattel and not TSR. The auction itself is in error - it says "by TSR", but if you look at the top of the box it says "Mattel Electronics".

My favorite thing about this product is the fantastic 'jeweled dragon' artwork on the cover.

I think I still have one around here somewhere, and if anyone wants it they can have it.  It still works, so in other words it still makes those annoying electronic sounds that were probably very cool when it came out.

If anyone wants it, PM me, and if I can find it it's yours.  Just be prepared to pay the shipping.

I liked both of Mattel's games:  I still have my original big maze game, and was given a copy of the handheld version by a co-worker a couple of years ago or so.  Both are fun, and the big maze game is one of Ethan's favorite games that we play (he likes all of the sounds).

Is it me, or have the prices for the woodgrain sets falling significantly in the second half of this year??

Thanks guys, I thought it'd end up a lot higher than that, so just threw a bid on in case.

I'm very happy, given I know there's quite a few guys who need a 2nd for their collections.

Just to clarify the listing on the rares, have we confirmed if:
- the "prepub" is only a first set with the Tractics box substituted (stickers having been removed)? Given: Paul's comments on his recent listing and the indications on the box that the stickers appear to have just been removed?

- there may be an additional 5a UK print for the white box set?

- a 7th print (OCE) has yet to be added to the list.

If there's no 'prepub' or '5a UK' that completes the set for me. Though I may look at upgrading the condition on it and a 3+  at a later date. If I do I'll offer first chance here for sale or trade.

It certainly exists.  Until recently, we hadn't considered it a "UK" printing, but that makes the most sense, now.

That about covers it.  I haven't played mine in ages.  It's not that bad, considering the level of technology available at the time.

I forget how many steel miniatures come with the game; I believe the complete set has a dragon, two players, and a treasure chest.  These miniatures sometimes find their way into eBay auctions of Ral Partha/Grenadier figures.  The steel miniatures aren't as detailed as standard 25/28mm minis, and they have a thick, beveled base instead of a thin, flat base.

The game comes with at least one instruction book.

All of the above fits into a shelf underneath the playing surface.

OCE.  With a BIN of $144.99 I wouldn't call this a bargain straight off.

Although he is offering an early copy of the Arduin Grimoire too.  I think (he says squeezing the grey matter - nnnnnnnnn), that it might be a second print.

I don't know the value of these - so not sure whether it is worth the $50 or so it would have to be to make the BIN worthwhile.  But I am sure other people here do

IIRC the first printings didn't have Hargrave's name on the cover, so 2nd or later seems likely.
