Nothing special about the item, which is a 1st ed DMG (later printing) in Near Mint shape, but this has to be one of the most flamboyant listings that I've seen  8)

His gallery fees alone would amount to half the auction value of the item!

Very artistic however!

Dragon #1:

Seller's got a bunch of other early issues as well.

P.S. Nice bidding, bclarkie    I've never understood the mentality of nickel-and-dimers like that other guy. He can chip his way to the high bid eventually, but it just makes it patently obvious that anyone who wants the item only needs to bid a few bucks more to be high bidder.

Yeah, that guy has been doing that with all of his bids. He just keeps bidding in $1 or $2 increments until he has either maxed out your bid or just barely topped it.  I can't figure out if he is just a dick with nothing better to do or is intentionally trying to inflate the price as much as possible without winning.    It finally annoyed me to the point that I figured I send a message.

Needless to say, with the exception of the first two "topping" bids, the rest of my bids are rather small amounts.

Its Auctiva.... (www.auctiva.com)  - A listing service that offers free pictures and free supersizing (if I understand it correctly).  They make their money by trying to sell your buyers postage insurance at the point of checkout.

I've signed up but not sold anything with it yet to try it out.  On some other parts of Ebay I frequent (Archery) it has taken off big time and most of the frequent posters use it.

Cheers

Hi lucyjoyce.

The Acaeum currently has FN/VF H1 at $80/$90. I have been watching this as it is absent from my collection. I have seen some incomplete ones on Ebay for $60 to $80. Our much talked about friend cougar has a punched and cut one listed for GBP99.00!!! But nice collectors copies, the likes of which you just listed seem to be very rare now.

I get the impression in recent months that D&D collectible prices are really surging again.

It seems that prices for Australian auctions are particularly high.  Is that my imagination?

It seems so to me. Australian auctions seem to be going through the roof. There are only 200-300 listings under RPGs at any given time (compared to 10,000) in the US and I have noticed a great increase in the number of collectors.

I watch and try to buy Australian items due to the saving on shipping. If I buy from the US, I try and get 4-5 items I want at the same time to justify the cost.
