No, its illegal pdfs. Look at the "digital delivery".

merci,
Yes I did see the pdf mention after my first post  , amended it 2 minutes later, alas bclarkie and his machine gun trigger was faster :D
Damn those pdf's, what a scourge - I prefer something more tangible myself
Yet... this still does not explain the "ADULT" addition to the sale item, I was 13 when I first began playing - not exactly an ADULT would'nt you agree?

The Fringe Dweller scurries back to the shadows, smarting from the ambush encounter........

not actually that interesting an auction...

http://cgi.ebay.com/DUNGEONS-DRAGONS-FA ... dZViewItem

...but I love the american use of the term 'fanny'.

I had heard that this was the case, but have never seen it actually in print (so to speak). Hilarious

We think it's funny too, or at least I do, but I believe the "fanny pack" is the only common use of the term on this side of the pond.  Does it mean something different in the UK?

We have the UK usage in Australia as well, not the American meaning. I always laugh when I hear the BeeGees song "Fanny, Be Tender With My Love."  :)

Great 'Fanny' Pack though. An excellent addition for the collector of fine D&D accoutrement!

Oh well. I thought I found an early Player's Handbook.  I'll keep looking.

I think the guy now needs to be put in the "Shady Dealers" thread, I do.  Here's why:  I contacted him within 15 minutes of the listing going up and I asked him about the printing and the flyleafs endpapers.  He repsonded to me shortly there after that this was a sixth printing.  So in resposne tp that I sent him this:

bclarkie wrote:Hi & thanks for the fast response. I am a bit confused now based on your response, as the photo that you have of your auction denotes a much ealier printing than a 6th. Looking at the cover, your book appears to be either a 1st, 2nd or 3rd print, so if the book that you are selling is a 6th print as you say it is, the cover should look much different than it does. So you can fully understand what I mean, please check this website to see the differences: http://www.acaeum.com/ddindexes/setpages/phb.html
The reason I bring this up is b/c the 1st thru 3rd prints typically sell for more than the later prints & if your book is a 6th print as you indicated, to save yourself some potential problems, its probably best if you change the picture that you are currently using &/or indicate clearly in your auction that the photo you are using is a "stock photo" & the fact that the book that you are selling is a different printing then the one in picture. Hope that helps & thanks again, Brian.

After taking over a full day and a hlaf to respond this is what I got in response:

I did indeed download a picture from the internet as I do not have a digital camera.

I am sorry if this caused any confusion.

Now, not only has refused to post the answer to any of the questions posed to him in the auction so folks can read it, he has also outright refused to change the picture or add to the description so people know he isn't selling an early print PHB.  At first I thought it was just an honest mistake, but now I am convinced that its being done on purpose since despite my detailed response and strong suggestion to modify the auction listing and the reasonse for it, he still hasn't done so. Frankly its starting to piss me off.  I am going to send him one more request to let people know about this auction and then its going to get ugly.

Just as a follow up to this auction:

** expired/removed eBay auction **

I was finally able to "convince" the seller to at least change the auction description, but by his response to my last poke, he did not do so very willingly. :?

Good stuff. You saved someone from being shafted. Especially as over 120 people had visited the auction page. There would most definately have been a bidding surge and one disgruntled winner with a hugely overpriced sixth edition handbook.

Nice job, bclarkie!   This is one potential 'Shady Dealer' you brought into the sunshine.  :D  I was certainly mislead by the picture.

This find was to be my first 'real' post to the 'Interesting Items' thread, but I hesitated since there was only a picture on the listing, and I am relatively new to differentiating the various printing.  From the Acaeum pics and descriptions, I had at least narrowed it to a third printing or earlier so I sent a question to the seller for more info.  When I checked back later in the day to see if I had a response (none received), I also noticed that bombadil had already bid on the item.  I recognized the name from the Acaeum forums and realized from reading many of his posts that he knew this was the genuine article.  (Now I was confronted with the dilemma of bidding against a fellow member if I really wanted the item.)  I contemplated a PM to bombadil to see what the protocol is in these situations (did not send one) and convinced myself just not to bid on it.

I finally received an email yesterday from the seller stating that this was a 6th printing.  When I checked the listing, there was only 1 bidder and it was not bombadil.  :?:  (I had not realized you could withdraw a bid like that, but I imagine he (bombadil) had received a similar response to his inquiry about printing.)  I'm not sure if the response I received was prior to or after bclarkie's gentle persuasion emails, but I am glad to see the seller was eventually convinced to modify the item description.

Bclarkie, thanks again for your continued vigilance on Ebay and this site. You certainly saved this noob from posting a listing about a bogus auction and tarnishing my nonexistent reputation on the forums.

Not sure if this has already been posted, but seems as though these items have qualified for a price exceeding $100.00 with almost 4 hours to go

Just recieved this email from wizard200000, and I must say I am definitely intrigued by the reply 8O, I suspected there was emphasis on the ADULT in the description. :P
So before anyone reports this guy for illegal pdf's, I am going to try and get some of the associated images - for clarity only - I swear

This is the email text I recieved:
It is a very unique guide to an adult version of dungeons and dragons. I would like to state that some of the content may be pornographic. It includes a number of rules and maps. A very decent buy considering its rarity. The term "book set" however is used widely in terms of its content. Please respond with any further questions regarding details of the item.

The following is the attached link for those who may wish to view

I thought I was getting away with something when I bought my copy last week.

I got a dirt cheap price, but still...someone ought to snag this thing.  En World Players Journal #1 seems like it might be worth money some day.
