Well, the lack of pictures and almost zero description is what really scared me away.  I mean don't get me wrong, at that price though even if he had 50 pictures at every possible angle and 5 pages of description, I would have still been smoked like a bad cigar 3 or 4 times over. :)

Red_bus also told me though that the seller refused any Non-US bidding, so I wonder if that would have any effect on the end bidding on any of the items? Probaly not, but still interesting.

That's interesting.  When I asked the seller about them the first time he had them listed, he said shipping to Canada would be okay.  Also, I thought the reason he pulled them was because he was going to relist them with pictures and better descriptions.  I guess that never happened.

I would have been up for it - although like Brian, I would not have got close.

He sent me the following:

The recommendations by ebay for overseas sales,
other than Canada, was so security minded that I decided
not to list overseas. Could someone possibly bid for you in the US?

And I just thought... bleh.
But I did check in every now and again and the page view seemed to remain fairly low (finished at 170ish?) - so I thought it might go low ( so I was wrong there ), but then this just shows - it isn't so important how many people are bidding, but who.  :D

A genuine first printing MM has the lizard logo, not the wizard.

What's scary is that, in the world of selling online characters, that would actually be considered a really good listing. The guy actually takes the time to explain the legal nuances, etc. ... I was sort of impressed, honestly.

As to whether that character is worth that sort of money ... no idea. He sounds like he's pretty tough, though.  :)

Eh, I must be getting old or something....I read through that listing and have ABSOLUTELY no clue what half of it means.....only that it would probably take the next 5 years of my life to figure out and attain what this guy did with this character.  Sounds like he can kick some ass though...

Thanks Jason :)
Like I said, I by no means claim to know such things (boo, hisss...). Just thought incase it was it would be a shame to let that one slip through the net when there was probably someone here who would want it.

Did any of you save this listing? It has been removed and there is no additional information. Just curious what it was & how much?

Thanks,

It was something like a 70th-level Troll Fighter with a ton of magic items and what amounts to a few "epic-level" skills.

Given the circumstances — WoW player in need of quick cash — I was just impressed that the listing was in complete, lucid English sentences.

I wonder why they took it down? I was under the impression that you can sell online characters on eBay ... or maybe they fall under the "virtual goods" heading that eBay seems to be frowning on these days?
