Having waited nervously for their arrival for three weeks, I was chuffed to receive a package of modules today from an eBayer in the States. As soon as I got home, I checked out the modpages here to see what printings they were.

And that's where there's a small element of doubt, so I thought I'd solicit your expert opinions. According to the Acaeum descriptions, there are 2nd printings of S1 in which the ISBN appears in the lower left corner of the front cover. This makes it identical to the 7th printing. Mine has this characteristic.

I think it's a 2nd and here's why. The S2 and T1 are defintely 3rds. The S3 is definitely a 1st. All appear to be the same vintage and all share about the same amount of staple rust (which is, apart from very minor shelf wear at the corners, about the only thing wrong with any of them). But does someone have a 7th print with staple rust?

It's not a big deal. I'm really pleased with their vintage, condition, the price I paid for them and the fact that they're now mine. But... I feel like I'm turning into a collector!

Oh yes it is a big deal. In fact, the beginning of the problem.

Stop collecting now :!:

First, you will spend money and so many time on your PC.

Then, you will receive your stuff.

You will spend hours to check what printing is that little crapy book. And hours to find another print on ebay.

You will buy brand new shelves.

Then your wife / girlfriend / relatives will look at you like a stranger.

Overcoming addiction is one of the most difficult challenges in life.

My advice is : throw away this crap (or send it to me), and do a walk this afternoon.

BTW, for me it should be a 2nd print...
How about the quality of paper or cover? I think that "physically" a 2nd and a 7th print are not made with the same material.
Just my opinion.

Here is an old thread about the S1 2nd vs 7th printings:

Hope that helps.
