I'd like to come along and imbibe on behalf of those who can't.

Choice of venue isn't an issue, nor is date. Lunchtime may be difficult, if I'm working (freelance + rolling contract = no idea until the end of this week).

Looking forward to meeting everyone.  :D

My mum just informed me that she stayed here for a couple of nights.  But that was in 1960/1 8O .  So, probably not that relevant!

I would love to see a few faces on the 5th (if that was the date).  But I will have to bust a gut to get down from Leicester and then get the late train home.  Interviewing next week.  So, not sure if I can get away early enough from work to make the trip viable.  I don't mind popping to the local to down a couple of pints in one.  But travelling to London to do this seems a bit extreme.

As it happens, Obiter (Brian) will be over on the 5th to attend a work event, and is crashing on my floor.  So could also drag him along for a wee drinkie.

Hi,

given the lack of a decision, and time ticking on, shall I suggest:

the 5th
5.00pm
the museum tavern

unless anyone want to change it?

Cheers,
malcolm

Sorry folks, been busy wrapping up the Tower of Blood edits.  It sounds like the 5th may be best, despite my likely lack of time zone adjustment :D

In case folks want to try to touch base, our contact info at the George Hotel is

The George Hotel
58-60 Cartwright Gardens
Bloomsbury, London WC1H 9EL
Tel: 011 + 44 (0) 20 7387 8777
Fax: 011 + 44 (0) 20 7387 8666

We arrive at around 7am but won't be able to check in there until around 1:30pm or so.  We should still be able to get messages, etc., though (I hope).

Yep,

I'm in. Few beers, chat, few more beers, etc ...

I'm flying in to Stansted early doors, I've a CPD lecture at the College of Obs & Gynae in the avo. I had toyed with the idea of heading to Griffin Park to watch Brentford  (16 games without a win) being humiliated once again by Doncaster Rovers, but an Acaeum meet would be great.

Cheers.

Well, I will look out for you.

I will drag Brian (Obiter) along and we will be there - that is at the Museum Tavern, right up near the front of the British Museum - from about 5.30ish

Hopefully see lawrenson, Tmesis and maybe a few others there as well.

My Mobile No. is 07979 475291 and it will be on all day.

Welcome to the land of poetry, literature and poor dental hygiene!

Steven.

LOL.

We arrived safe and sound after some trials and tribulations flying via Chicago O'Hare, but are here, on time.  We check into the hotel in a couple of hours, and I'll be down at the Museum Pub by 5pm.  Looking forward to meeting folks :D

Happy Birthday Al!

No chance of me attending either.  Not only interviewing.  But I'd also completely forgotten about my team's Christmas meal tonight.  Joy!

You are kidding me! The guy I just met, with the really affable disposition, with the laptop full of mouthwatering laptop-laden glimpses of future Greyhawk goodness, the guy who drank mineral water all evening, it was his birthday today?

Edit: Okay, there might be more than one person with a birthday today (congrats, Al) and I might have had too much to drink, but the rest of the email stands...

Damn it!

Okay, for the record, I really enjoyed meeting everyone this evening but, Allan, if you're checking in to the forum while you're here, we owe you one. I know a few excellent restaurants and it would be a pleasure (or honour or whatever word you'd like to insert here along those lines) to drag you, kicking and screaming if necessary, with all your UK folks, along for a meal, to one of these places, before it's too late.

John, I'd be happy to accommodate you for the duration, if there's any way you can make it down. Just pm me and it's sorted. That offer extends to any member who can get over here while Allan's in the vicinity. (I have a decent-sized flat.)

It was great to meet Brian, Shaun (Shawn? Sean?), Steven, and Malcolm last night.  Thanks for the fun discussions, the good cheer, and the welcome to London :D

My bday was 8 November, so it must have been Al Silcock's :D

My wife and I would be happy to join the crew, if possible.  What/where did you have in mind?

No one was killed, so I can safely ask if Grodog had this hidden in his carry-on luggage:
