I too love L1. But it is not for 1st level parties. Even a group of 2nd level characters can get wiped out quite easily.

Adding to my original post, B11 and B12 are very suitable for a party of 1st characters. The plot may be generic but the adventure itself lends very well to 1st level characters.


And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

Thanks guys, I've picked up a few of these now and with WotC site having L1 as a download, I have several to adjust for a starter.  :D

I am still trying to get U1, N1, B11 & B12, but with a bit of luck I might land them on eBay in the future

(unless anyone wants to PM me with a fair sale price.....)  8)

Of the newer low-level adventures B11 and B12 are very good.  I have a particular fondness for B7 Rahasia.  Actually, the whole B series is worth playing.

Ditto. (except the Rahasia thing, though B7 is clearly the most "advanced" module in the series). My least favorite is B8. B6 can be very fun with the right players.

My suggestion is T1 or B2. T1 has a nice town setting, which is a good place to base a longer-term campaign. B2 sort of has the same thing, but has the added bonus of having oodles of monsters to waste, and a variety of them as well. It also is as common as dirt, and can be had very cheaply. But anything you use ought to have a jumping-off point for further adventures. Have fun!
