I've been recently going back over some old threads and it struck me how many guys have been regular posters on here, but seem to have disappeared.
Where are they now? Is this just natural wastage? Have they left the hobby? Did I say something to upset them? (Or did Deadlord say something to upset them?(J/K  )
My list isn't exhaustive but you get the picture - So are they MIA or have they just got a life?
Invincible Overlord (still posts at Dwarven forge I notice),  Gamesguy(funny guy!), McDuff, Nev, Draco (came back very briefly a while ago), Ralf Toth & Purpledragon (Deadlord? ) and Johnhuck (seems to duck in and out of the forums) and of course Extsr (MIA at DF as well I believe)

This is not to suggest that those left are not 'good men', it just seemed like a snappy title for the thread!.

It's only natural that an individual's interest in a particular hobby will wax and wane over time. There's not much to do other than try to take up the slack!

Extsr (Frank) may just be taking a post-GenCon break? His last post was 9/3...time to focus on the bakeries?

Though I noted that he bought the Holmes RPG book I posted 10/3:

Frank's been lurking about.  Probably just too busy to post.

Hello Frank!  :)

McDuff runs his own business (a book shop if I remember correctly) and I think he is quite busy with that.  I traded some stuff with him a few months ago.

I have had at least two long vacations from the forum over the past couple years. Life gets busy. I not only get too busy for the Acaeum, but the internet in general.

I suppose our missing members have the same issues.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

Ralf purchased something from me a few weeks ago!  Life has been very busy for him, but he's doing well.

Ralf, DarkSeraphim, Nev ... many others ... yeah, we're mssing some people who had some quality input. But, as others have said, you can't begrudge someone stuck in the "real life" continuum.

Also, at least one person mentioned in a post above has just lost interest in visiting this site (well, the forums, to be specific). I don't begrudge that reaction, either.

I miss Ralf. He and I used to go at it a lot, which I relished, and I am pretty sure he knew it was all in fun. Very smart, and very honest guy.

Anybody heard from harami2000?

He hasn't posted since Jan this year and I have been trying to reach him.

David actually started a new ID many months back and was posting as faro, however he has made himself scarce this last few months, unless of course he is again posting under another new user ID again and just hasn't let anyone know yet(which is entirely possible BTW  :? )

Do you think his new ID could be free_xxx_movies, the newest registered   ?

But David is still active on ebay.

Or perhaps it might be our newest member yet, SindySexy.

I regret having dropped out of the forum.  I'd only posted a couple of dozen times, but I'd been an active reader, and I have recently revived my collecting of OD&D and 1E material.

As for why I dropped away for 11 months, suffice to say that life interfered, and, as someone else said, my hobby waned.

I'm glad to be back.

I not a veteran to the Acaeum -- having joined in mid-2005 -- but I've been collecting since 1978, and it is a truly awesome hobby.
