Does anyone know of a reliable / reasonable site where I can post this image for anyone passing through the acaeum to view?
Whoops. I missed your reply. You can email me the scan (
[email protected]) and I'll put it up somewhere if people want to take a look. A few additional notes:
1) I recently picked up a first printing set that appears to be a hybrid. The rulebook is a 1st, but the box and X1 appear to be 2nd printings -- red box around warning, no product code in bottom right, 1981 on bottom right, 1980 near TSR logo. It does not have the product number on the bottom. For reference, the d4, d8, d12, d20 and crayon are green, and the d6 and d10 are beige.
2) In a recent auction of a first printing set, there was a photo of the box bottom -- and it had a product number, as yours does. So there are at least two copies with this detail; it's possible that the description is in error.
3) The X1 copy shown on the bottom of the box uses a different font than on any known X1 -- it's a non-serif font, and lists Moldvay before Cook. Does anyone own one of these?
