this topic doesn't focus on a TSR item actually, but on a literay source of the first edition of D&D: i've somewhere in the net that the book "Fabolous beasts and demons" by H.Mode  was one of the litery sources gygax used...

i wonder if anybody of you has a copy of this book and, in case, if it does worth... it's difficult to find it on ebay, while on amazon there are several copies! the point is that on amazon prices are high!

for any additional info, pls have a look here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/071481 ... 32?ie=UTF8

ciao

This title doesn't ring bells as one that EGG has plugged before; before spending $$$ on it, it may be worth asking him if it was one of his inspirational sources or not.

I'll have to keep an eye on Brian to see if he's picked up a copy yet?  He was pretty quick to get the D&D related playboy issue a while back :)  It'll be a little test to see if it was just an excuse to buy porn :)  There is still something unsettling in my mind about buying used porn.

Geez, tough crowd around here.  I normally am not in the market of buying porn, old or new, as why pay for it when you can get all that you handle on line for free.   On a serious note, I only spent like $6 or $7 onn that magazine and it was purely for curiosities sake, and let me tell you I would have been better off just taking a match to a $10 bill as it would have accomplished the same thing. :?

I am still curious as to exactly which month it was and who the gal was. I tell ya' from the cover of the one in question it sure seemed like that one was the most likely candidate. Well one down and 11 to go! Anyone know where there is a Playboy "reference" library. :)  Or perhaps there is a library that has it on microfiche. :P

Howdy,

According to the late Dave Sutherland from 1977 or so pre-October I should think - unless Mike Carr wrote the afterword before the ms. was illustrated.

February, 'though the cover looks like her (sorry bclarkie), is apparently not it. So that leaves us with 8 months: Jan, Mar, Apr, May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep.
