Better yet, look at the picture on the back of the box... that's what OUGHT to be in the bag.

The description says that the dice bag is still sealed but it does look like the could be open on that left side - perhaps big enough to fit in a 6 sider and a crayon.

I asked the seller about the bag and he says:

"Bag is still sealed. What you see in the picture probably, is the seam that was sealed after the dice/crayon were inserted."

I seem to recall (it was 20+ years ago) that my Moldvay Basic Set had a similar dice config with a white w/black pips 6 sider.  Maybe TSR was experimenting with different dice suppliers?

The seller doesn't take Paypal, so I'm not going any higher to find out definitively, anyway.

Doesn't Valhalla Games have the same item up for sale for $11,700 AU?

Is the box for this Expert Set a "frankenstein"?

** expired eBay auction **

Note the box bottom has the 1983 TSR "Angle" Logo, and advertises Mentzer Basic Set.

I ask because I just received an Expert Set with an identical box configuration. I figured it was a franken, but now I'm wondering if this was intentional by TSR?

I'm guessing frankenstein.  It's a common mistake when putting the boxes back together -- not checking which top and bottom go togeether.  (I definitely did so once back in the 80s when I used those sets.)
