Heh, Shane is proably the reason behind that.

Howdy Frank,

Are you going to allow bidding on Darlene's art from Acaeum members who aren't at GenCon?

It would be nice to know what pieces she if offering. Several people have been inquiring as they wish to place bids on the artwork.

Futures Bright,

Paul

They told me next year they would limit pruchases so more people could get one!

Heh, heh... Y'make it sound as though that was well announced, but I don't recall anyone mentioning this beforehand. ;)
Not so much as a whisper on the GenCon forum, or from Frank, anyhow.

Yeah, congrats; nice one for the museum. ^^ *awaits further details*

The sixty copies does annoy me somewhat.  Weren't the last few limited editions they published around 300 copies?  They didn't think anyone would load up on copies?  Next year let's have an Acaeum member buy all the copies, and just resell them on the forum.....

I was one of the first people to buy a copy. I joked that maybe I should buy them all! They didn't care!  Buy one or buy ten they said.  Very odd!

I was not very happy when they told me they sold out in the first hour.  I made it very clear I thought they were not too damn smart to come to Gencon with only sixty copies.  They left a lot of money in Indianapolis.  I think that is inexcusable.  They told me to go to thier site and sign up for a "second printing".  If enough people signed up they would do the printing.  It just shows they do not understand thier market.

The meeting was pretty cool. Frank had Tom Wham make some personalized buttons for the Acaeum members and gave samples of his delicious cookies :D  :D.

Attendies:
Invinicible Overlord
Chromatic Knight
Blackmoor
Stratochamp
ExTSR
Contrarian(hope I got the name right)

Forget anyone?

Tim Kask, Jim Ward, Tom Wham. and Harold Johnson all help out at the auction.

non-Acaeum:
Goldhattedme

Haven't met Shane yet.

Yeah, Martin; sounds like they neither care about the money, nor their customers.
Telling that story someone who has bothered to turn up at GenCon and arrives at their stall 90 minutes after opening time ain't going to go down well. "Oh, you can send in an order, plus postage, and maybe we'll run you off a 'second print' if we can justify that".

Saves me the expense of ordering those I was missing from their back-catalog, too, I guess. :D
