Unfortunately for Frogs, I teach high school and middle school History.

Every once in a while, I get on a frog-squashing rant. I will not be graduating too many Francophiles, I'm thinking.

I do have one good friend who has the misfortune to be French, but I don't hold it against him. It's not like we can pick our parents. If we could, we'd all be born near the beach to rich parents and all have ponies.

That first part made me laugh.  What is it about historians and their absolute hatred of the French?  It's scary. I know two high school teachers who teach history and they are inveterate French bashers )both during and out of class).  My youngest brother is one of the smartest people I know, and well versed in history (that was his major and masters in college, his greatest feat is reading 22 books about WWII one summer so he could take a college course on WWII and stump the Professor), and he's a regular contributor to the website Fuckfrance.com.  I admit to being more of the eye-rolling type than hating type when something goofy happens there.  My newest favorite is that they are spending millions of taxpayer dollars to recreate a French Google with less of an "American" slant than the regular Google....instead of just using Google as is...which everyone all over the world (except the French) has no problem using....?  Huh?
Let it be known one of my best friends growing up was half-French (Mother french, Father Polish) so I heard most of the good french-bashing stuff through the years from his parents!

In Canada, we have a love/hate relationship with francophones.  Hockey, poutine, good.  Celine Dion, having to say everything twice, bad.

Au Canada, nous avons un rapport de love/hate avec des francophones. Hockey, poutine, bon. Celine Dion, devant indiquer tout deux fois, mauvais.

Badmike--thanks for the tip on fuckfrance.com. I LOVE IT!

As to history teachers hating France: it's because we know we saved their sorry, smelly butts twice last century and they are an ungrateful bunch of douchebags...

Hi guys!

I haven't posted in some time. Funny, I'm here at Gencon in my hotel room and decided to check the forum. I'm here with friends setting up the Dwarven Forge booth. I'll defintly be at the auction, and the friday meeting sounds fun. I'll stop by.

Mike

I forgot:

Phone charger
My nice shoes
And My Checkbook for the action

Good thing I still have a friend coming friday

Quick note:

Goodman sold out of the GenCon Exclusives the 1st day. Last year they didn't even sell out at GenCon. Man they went fast.

Howdy Frank,

Are you going to allow bidding on Darlene's art from Acaeum members who aren't at GenCon?

It would be nice to know what pieces she if offering. Several people have been inquiring as they wish to place bids on the artwork.

Paul

They only had sixty copies for gods sake!

Pretty rare mod I would say!

They told me next year they would limit pruchases so more people could get one!

Somebody bought 16 copies!! (I wonder who that was)

Heh, heh... Y'make it sound as though that was well announced, but I don't recall anyone mentioning this beforehand. ;)
Not so much as a whisper on the GenCon forum, or from Frank, anyhow.

Yeah, congrats; nice one for the museum. ^^ *awaits further details*

The sixty copies does annoy me somewhat.  Weren't the last few limited editions they published around 300 copies?  They didn't think anyone would load up on copies?  Next year let's have an Acaeum member buy all the copies, and just resell them on the forum.....
