Hi Everyone,

I know there was a topic "Gencon Anyone" sometime ago.  Wanted to start a new topic now that the event is almost at hand.

More than a few of you were not sure about attending.  Would like if you would post if your going to be at Gencon.

Also, would like to know the time on Friday afternoon for the meet and greet with Acaeum members in the Auction room?

Martin

I'm not sure of the etiquette here, but would it be totally out of bounds to ask if anyone attending could pick up an item for me?

It's a new release; no searching required. I would provide all of the necessary funds via PayPal, of course.

If that sounds do-able to anyone headed for Indy, could you PM me? Thanks in advance.

Me2.

As long as this string has been started, please note herein if you're going to attend the Friday afternoon ACE meeting for Acaeum members, to be held in the Auction room. Tim Kask will be there and I'll round up a few other interesting people. You'll also get a tour behind the scenes, which can be quite impressive in itself. And I'll treat you to some of my baked goods, I think. Other surprises may be in store.

Other biz... The Stuff.

Two or more Acaeum members (d4+1) have already contacted me with Want Lists.

Feel free.

Specify the precise item you're seeking, including condition notes as appropriate. (If I'm not exactly sure of the item to which you refer, I have plenty of well-informed associates. I do have my specialties and my grey areas, as do we all.)

Specify the max price you're willing to pay, varying by condition (as appropriate).

Please keep it to 5 or fewer items per person, unless I preauthorize more.

As to payment... I can cover quite a few lesser items without prepayment; it's not uncommon for me to spend $5000+ at GenCon. That said, if you're shooting for something at US$1000+, better take measures to be sure.* I'm perfectly willing to cover for you below that IF you've ever purchased anything from me privately or on eBay, OR if you're a well-known and unimpeachably honest member of this august body. (Hm, that left everybody out except Foul, so... I'll give you the benefit of the doubt if you post a lot, ok? Post whores must be rich, they spend so much time online...) ;>

It'd be safest and surest if you email (to [email protected]) the specifications noted above for your Want Lists. Do so before 04 August, pls, as I will be heading for GenCon somewhat earlier than most.

Frank Mentzer

* To be sure (about cash flow & payment), contact WeekendWarrior.com and offer to give a credit/debit card number to guarantee purchases that I (specifically I and only I) authorize for you. My business partner will fully support these activities to make it as easy and painless as possible.

A PayPal guarantee will work IF you also agree to cover the PP charges in addition to the purchase price. (I know that this boils down to a calculus problem to determine the eventual cost, so keep an Integrator handy or dust off your N-dimensional Hilbert space.)

Nah. ;> I'll be onsite by Tuesday evening, so you can find me in the auction room almost any time thereafter... we'll play it by ear and see what everybody wants to do.

Clarification: If you're NOT attending GenCon you can give me your Want Lists (as described above) and I'll see what I can do for ya. If you're going to be there, you're on your own.

Isn't Faro sailing his yacht over?
You could go with him.
He's probably leaving next week, tho. ;>

(Yeah, I had to downsize the house a bit to pay for the rest of the stuff, but at least it doubles-up in a practical manner...).

Oil isn't cheap - heck even WOTC is raising prices on its minis next year because of it.

I wish I could go.  I think I might just try and time my move out west to coincide.  I'd also toss out a small want list, three rather common items, but it might take a little while before I can pay someone back.  So I'll wait and hunt on ebay.
