Being totally unrealistic, I fantasize about doing things like reading every

D&D module/product ever produced in the order that they were released.

I was just wondering, is the tsr stock list with it's product codes any sort

of indication of the order in which things were released?

Or has anyone ever tried to compile such a list?

Now I just need to get a copy of Chainmail to start my reading odyssey...

I've seen a few lists of all TSR products by product code, but can't tell you offhand where they are at (just that they are out there).  I DO know that the code had nothing to do with chronology, unless you count the 4 vs. 5 digit codes (the 5 digits were only used in the last year or 2 of TSR and first year or so of WotC pre-3rd edition).

I"ve heard about these product codes lists, haven't really dug into one over the years, though.  Do we have one available on the Acaeum??

Don't think so, but I imagine they wouldn't complain if somebody whipped one up.

Chronologically, it might be more difficult, esp. when you get down into multiple printings...  That, and TSR was HORRIBLE for getting their stuff out when it was due in the stores.  I would go to one hobby shop and something would be out a few weeks early, while another one 10 miles away would take 2 months to get something in stock.  Things didn't have a release date so much as just kind of show up on shelves.

Before someone kills a week working on one:

And while it's in vague chronological order, I stress the "vague".

I came across the following site a few months back - I bookmarked it because of the chronological info it provided.

http://phammer.tripod.com/dndlist0.html

It lists D&D items by year of release and includes their codes. The lists are divided up according to Basic, Advanced and campaign world.

I've never checked to see how consistent the information on this site is with that on the Acaeum, but maybe it's of some use.
