This is offtopic but here goes anyway!

Hi everyone, don't forget that Gary Gygax's birthday is coming up very soon. It is July 27 for those who don't know. He will be 68 this year. I encourage everyone to send him a card and drop by to one of his Q&A threads on one (or more) of the forums that he frequents and post a Happy Birthday message starting a a day or two  before his birthday.

Cheers,

Llaurenela

Would he be irritated if he got a lot of snail mail cards? If not, anyone here have a mailing address for EGG?

(On a side note, I found where he had posted an e-mail address on one of the forums he frequents, and on a whim, wrote him an e-mail. He responded the next day. A nice e-mail, talking about playing back in the day and how his son plays, but mainly computer games. I thought it was extremely gracious from someone who can only be labeled a living legend by many...)

You could always send him an electronic birthday card from hallmark or american greetings.

A lot of cards were sent to him last year and anyway you can wish him happy birthday is fine, in the forum, by email or by snail mail. I am sure he appreciates the thought any of these ways that you send them. The thing about snail mail is that he is of the generation that wrote letters and sent cards.

Oh BTW I think it would be especially great if there were at least 100 happy birthday posts to Gary at Enworld. Please join me in helping make that happen!

Hi Everyone,
Just a quick reminder that tomorrow is the July 21st. Since Gary's birthday is on the 27th, you would probably want to get any cards in the mail by Sat the 22nd at the latest. Also just a reminder that I encourage everyone to visit every forum where Gary has a Q&A to wish him a happy Birthday (either very late on the 26th or as early in the day as possible on the 27th. Let's make all of the birthday wishes as numerous a possible.  Thanks, everyone,
Llaurenela

He also has a Q&A thread at ENworld:

And he has one not as frequently used on Rob Kuntz Piep Piper Publishing site:

Hey all,

I was emailed this DF link that was created by Alexander1968 :D :
Happy Birthday to Gary!

Pied Piper Publishing - The Colonel's Corner

1E/2E/OD&D - Gary Gygax Q&A: Part XI  at EN World

Lejendary Community Discussions - Q&A with Gary Gygax

Please pass these on to all D&D, AD&D forums that you frequent.

Also on another note, does anyone know the birthdays of any other early D&D luminaries? Gary's seems to be the only one that is posted all over the internet.

Cheers,
LL

Very weird. So keep bidding, it'll bring you good luck.

Back when I got divorced I deliberately discarded my Scorpio characteristics, tho. Didn't like 'em, didn't want 'em any more; meditated on 'em until they went away.
