Allllrrrigghtttyyy folks.  Thread moderated.

I think we can all agree that Michigan is a horrible place, liberals and conservatives are bad, and few people on this forum can spell or work the "submit" button correctly.

Avatars should be limited to roughly 120 x 120 pixels, and less than 50k.  If it says otherwise somewhere, it's incorrect.  The point is to not stretch the forum columns or slow down page generation.

Oh, and yes, everyone has a right to free speech here, as long as those viewpoints agree with mine.

Frank, install those little mirrors that cyclists use so that you can see behind you at your next convention. Here's what I saw as you passed people at GenCon SoCal:

Gamer 1: Dude, that's Frank Mentzer!
Gamer 2: Where?
Gamer 1: He just walked past!
Gamer 2: Whoah.
Gamer 1: He wrote Temple of Elemental Evil!
Gamer 2: Whoah.

I overheard this conversation, or one like it, about five times. :)

I have a purely non-political question:

Is anyone going? Bbarsh? Marlith? Is anyone going to make a day of it in Columbus? Or is everyone saving up for GenCon? :)

I had not planned on going. It seems like it has gone downhill from its hayday. There is an outside chance I might stop by on Saturday just for the auction. As I recall the RP stuff is sold mostly on Saturday. If anyone is going and has a laptop and finds out the auction schedule would you mind perhaps posting it here?

I am not going to make it. I am closing out a house over the next couple days - a bit ahead of schedule. It would be just too hard to make it all work.

I'll try again for Gen Con. Maybe next year I will plan ahead a little better. I really let it sneak up on me before I got serious.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

Server had a progressive meltdown starting two days ago.  By last night it was completely down.  Thankfully, nothing was lost, and all's well now.

Does anyone else think having 2 of the 3 biggest conventions (correct?) in the country in consecutive months in adjoining (only moderately populous) states is weird?

What does the East Coast or the South have for conventions anyway?

I live in the northern KY region, and have to say that Origins and GenCon are appropriately located(not just becuase they are about 2 hours away from my house each).  This region is within one day's drive (600 highway miles) from half the country's population.  That aside, I did not have quite the enjoyable time I was hoping to at Origins, almost no new RPGs to be found this year and the only decent "old" game I found was SLUGS (#73 of 200, signed) for 7 bucks.  Hoping GenCon will be better.
