Perchance the true Grandmaster (Grandmaster of the Flowers?) would have the premiere collection in everything D&D - TSR and non-TSR (professional and homebrew).

Others would be considered Grandmaster Specialists; e.g. Grandmaster of Judges Guild; Grandmaster of D&D Fanzines; Grandmaster of Non-TSR; etc...

When a collector gains sufficient items to qualify him or her as a particular Grandmaster, the collector must find and defeat the current Grandmaster in single trivia combat.

The CougLander wouldn't even make the "C" team here. His legendary status extends only as far as his own front porch.*

And as far as influence goes, you called it: buying B2s for 50 cents and selling them for 60 cents is not "influence." And his entire experiment with H1 has been good for nothing but a few laughs ...

They might sell if their financial situation becomes dire enough! How many collectors here have sold an item or two because they were in financial straits? Even items that they swore they would never sell?

For those of you who are into cricket do you think the family which owns the original ashes will sell it?  Not bloody likely and I know there have been offers over the years.

I read that the Marylebone Cricket Club now owns the original urn. No?

Hmm, not Stormber?  He should probably be near the top for collection and knowledge shouldn't he?

A2jeff and TheFantasyMuseum should be pretty high on the list for collections (and knowledge as well).

Actually anyone with over 1000 posts deserves to be on the list somewhere.

Of course I will have to come up with a special category just for Al

Hi Everyone.  [Waves at Al, Improv and Ian]  :)

Intresting concepts, though I don't know about including me in the collection category, as I've parted with most, but not all, of the rares.

Thanks for the votes of honor, though, as I have always been impressed with this community's efforts to reveal, update and preserve the history of games/gaming, and of TSR's contributions, specifically.  I am truly honored to be part of this community, though I rarely have time to post.

As for non-TSR, I suppose that Paul S has a growing knowledge base of that, but I feel that the masters of that knowledge may not be well represented here, such as Bill Hoyer, John Bobek and others from the days of Avalon Hill, SPI, old miniature and diplomacy rules/variants, and the list could be expanded exponentially, of course.  That is a wide open field, which has been active on the collector's side on ebay for many years.  Of course I am not familiar at all with who are the main non-TSR/non-fantasy collectors here, so correct me if any of my general comments regarding who here might or might not have knowlelge of this have gone astray.

Hey Rob .. you haven't been talking to Frank by any chance?

I agree ... in my rush to put the list together I put you in most categories...
