Uh yeah....

Is this, like, a photocopy or something?

According to the Acaeum and the ISBN listed, it is a super high quality photocopy of an 8th-11th printing of the basic set (in red).  I don't see any holes punched in the white pages.

Note the luxurious binding and the detail in the digital imagery used to showcase this unparalleled treasure of early D&D.

It would be cool to ask the seller where they got the 1971 date to see what they say.

I'm adding it to my watch list!!!  I'd bet there will be a bid or two!   :D

Selling photocopies legal?   Not so much, no...

You have to be TSR (WOTC) to complain though... I guess they don't have the time to go sueing every schmuck on ebay selling copies of stuff.

I bet if you started pumping out 3E copies you'd get a phone call in short order!   :D

Too funny...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... =2545&rd=1

I e-mailed the seller and asked how this could be from 1971 when the first set wasn't published until 1974?

They changed the auction title to 1974.    8O

I think I'll e-mail again and ask how that was published in 1974 when the basic set didn't come out until 1977!

Ok, ok, so its a little slow at work right now...!   I gotta have some fun! :D
