Many of us have agreed that the DCC series by Goodman Games is among our favorite 3E items.  For some of us, it's the only 3E stuff we can stand to look at.  Anyway, I emailed Joseph Goodman about print runs on some of the special releases, but he was reluctant to give out that information.  I did get some info, though, on how the print runs on the specials compare percentwise to the regular releases.  Does anyone know the print runs on the regulars, generally speaking?

I don't know, but I believe Devon & Shawn were told there were 217 copies printed of Haunted Lighthouse. Or was that Mask of Death?

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

It was "Mask of Death" that had the 217 print run. Not sure how many "Haunted Lighthouse" were printed.

I want to say 300 for Haunted Lighthouse, but I can't really recall.

That rings a bell with me, too — maybe from a press release or something?

As to the original question ... no idea. Although with Goodman already re-printing some DCCs (and announcing re-prints on others), I'd say they took the smart route and erred on the side of caution. I don't know ... 4,000 to 6,000, maybe? (Total guess).

So that makes Mask of Death rarer than Haunted Lighthouse? Interesting. That makes Mask of Death rarer than the R and RPGA series too. It's a damned shame the interior art was SO bad.

Well thats due to haunted Lighthouse not only being sold at GenCon, but also to those who where on the Blackmoor site (who couldn't go) and wanted one.  Course its also Dave Arneson who wrote it, so of course more would have to be made..and its why they go for so much on Ebay (or at least did).

If someone has a spare Haunted Lighthouse let me know. I would trade 2 Mask of Deaths for one.

I would make the same offer   if I had two to spare. I suspect the print run for Mask is higher than Lighthouse. Did they not do an additional run to fill web orders that exceeded supply. You can also pick Mask up fairly cheap still...

MoD went for $38.39 on Monday( would have been much less if I didn't toss my bid in, sorry bbarsh :(  ). Seems the craze of $60 + it was going for over the winter died off. Add the $19 just mentioned and the price is really going south, but I'm sure it will recover in time.

I would be very surprised if the next HL goes for under $200. Last one I bid on I was out bid at $120 and that was early last fall  8O IIRC it ended around $130.

Although on the GG's forums they did mention they may reprint it but with some differences than the original release ( probably 3.5 update/color scheme IIRC ).

The Mask of Death print run of 217 copies allowed for the over ordering. That's why there was the odd number of copies.

I wonder why it is not seeing the crazy price increases that Haunted is?

Well, there's that, true.  But Lighthouse is also just much more interesting.
