yeah i think shock at having something thats worth that much and not really knowing - unless they did a little research, which i doubt considering the listing.

with davids bid, that will almost pay my first instalment :)

I happen to know that a friend of mine who doesn't visit the any of forums, sent an email to them with a link to the acaeum page that has the woodgrain info on it. I think he might have submitted BIN offers, but I don't know for sure. I rather doubt that they do anything now but provide info and ride the bidding out.

Well I would only have spotted it about now - after about 50 people would have bid and won it already.  8O

Seller said that the set was picked up from a yard sale yesterday 8O

And she was offered $75 by another eBayer.  Nice try!

You know the seller is from Pennsylvania.  If they end up being from anywhere around here, I think that I am going to be sick........

*erf...*

And as to the clueless individual who disposed of it in their yard sale... :(
(They could at least have given it to their kids to play with).

(Oh good, I can stop bidding now... btw, that's not my question on the auction!)

Hopefully for the condition junkies the spines ain't been damaged too much whilst taking those pics. ;)

I received one of the ref sheets (in error since I hadn't asked) and it appeared as though her way of keeping those open was to place her thumb against the spine and bend.
Y'know what I mean...

Now, if that had been a third print...

Nice U&WA, btw! :)

Well, some time soon someone else will tell me that they know what they're bidding on!

I'll stop bidding at that point, OK? ;)

Once it went over $300-400 there was no harm in waiting for the seller to reply... ^^

I'd guess the curling of the booklets pushes it in the direction of a 1st print.

Since these woodies are appearing every other week does this make them a rarity 4 but with the value is still holding up?

Interesting who the 3rd place bidder is on this set. Brendon, were you able to confirm with the seller that the transaction has been completed on the 2nd printing yet?

fwiw, there isn't a huge amount of difference in the cardstock between the various firsts and second: most will probably curl like that if force is applied.
The staple tension on that U&WA is "interesting"...

btw. never try that exercise with a third; and for that reason please whenever asking 'bout woodgrain scans, always request that the seller exercise extreme caution for the sake of whoever has to pay up the $ at the end of the day.

(aside: Might ask about those thumbcreases, too: nothing serious, but possibly from nervous fingers).

Enjoy the auction, y'all. :)

Seller's reply to my query regading 2nd chance offers:
Howdy
sorry for the late reply. We have not sent you a second chance offer for this item. I dont know what to tell you. So far the transaction for the item is running smoothly. We will let you know if it falls through. Obviously you should be careful with the other offer. Let us know what happens. Later Dale for U214

So at this stage it hasn't been completed but all going Okay
