BTW Rob,  How many of the first run of 500 do you have left?

Close.  Deimos was pissed off because certain individuals were taking shots at grodog and extsr, prominent members of this forum, and subsequently he threw all sense of decency out the window in his post.  For that, he apologizes, as well as for speaking in the third person.  ;)

However, I stand by my comment regarding the items collectibility, and I thoroughly disagree with the way this particular item has been marketed.  I'll leave it at that.  It may well be an outstanding module and I wish the publishers all the best in their endeavours.

I think in the case of this product, "collectibility" is less of an issue than "community."

You will have to wait a while for this product to become collectible.  The community is here now, and is quite valuable by itself.

Yay! They've shipped.
So who's gonna post a review?

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

It's not like he can just ship all of them at once.

Anyone here ever tried to do a mass mailing of just letters in envelopes?

Even with a computer helping, it sucks.

Yeah, there's at least 150 orders to fulfill, I think. I can't even conceive of what a drag that might be. I would struggle to get 10 packages out in a week!

I caught the Post Office at the right time today for the next wave.  They get a little ancy when you come in with a lot of packages.  They know me and like me, but said "no way" we'd send you away if you walked in with 150 of these at once, as they are way too busy for holding up a single counter with one person mailing that much stuff at once.  So, my only option is to mail these a little at a time, which in the end gives me time to package them and fulfiill over a week.

Oh, btw, it does help that at one point during my employment at TSR that I was the Shipping Director!  ;)  LOL!

Of all the jobs in gaming I have heard about, that one sounds the most like having....a job.

I believe, Mark, that the only prize I would have for you at that point would be unreadable handwriting from autographing, addressing and recording all of the shipments!  :)  I've done a bit of adddressing in my time, for sure, but not this much in a while, so my right hand might get atrophied by the time this is finished!  ;)

How are you mailing these out?  Media?  Priority Flat rate?  If you are sending them Priority Flat Rate, you could automatically print out the labels with the Click 'n Ship feature on the USPS website.  It may take a little time to do each label, but they come with delivery confirmation at no extra charge.   All you have to do is walk up to the counter and hand them all over at once - with pre-printed postage the employee doesn't even have to look at them, they can just drop them all in the Priority mail bin.  It would be quicker then someone sending out one package!

Even quicker (for you) would be to buy a whole bunch of $4.05 Priority Mail stamps.  I believe if the package weight is under 1lbs. you don't even have to hand them over the a clerk - you could just drop them off in the post box.  Or you could go to the counter - if they are pre-stamped it would only take minutes for a postal employee to "red stamp" each one.

There are many things you can do to efficiently mail out items - if this is something that you will be doing more and more in the future, you should start to explore different options.

There were perks working in shipping at TSR.  If "vistiors" stood around gabbing with me for too long I would put them to work packing orders.  This either cleared Shipping of the yackers or earned me a helper (for at leat one order, maybe more).

Hey Beyond the Breach!

I was inquring about that today, prepaid methods, but the person was not aware of the options and suggested I check everything out online.

I am examining more efficient ways of doing this so thanks for the suggestion!  :)
