Gentlemen,

I have recently purchased a copy of the Greyhawk Adventures HC. It is in perfect condition except for the remainder of a price tag on the cover. Any idea on how to remove the stuff without hurting the color of the cover?

Start with a hair Dryer and a Lint free cloth. Heat it peal what is left if any of the Paper  VERY VERY slowly.  Then Heat and wipe, Heat and wipe and Repeat until you are satisfied.

Good luck

Buy a can of Energine.  Usually available at hardware stores such as True Value.  Absolutely the best for removing any type of adhesive, gum, tape, grease, tars etc.  I apply it with a cotton cloth to the sticker, wait a few seconds, and gently peel it away.  If the sticker still won't budge, apply a little more and it will loosen.  Once off, you can gently rub the residue and that's it.  You do have to be careful with older items that are lighter in color and more porous since it can darken the surface slightly if you are not careful.

Thanks, both of you. I used the hair dryer method - now it is truly mint.
