Ducks are in Runequest if you didn't know.

Don't know about Italy, but I sent one to UK and it took 40 days plus. I think it went to a member here (ebay name not the same as Acaeum name, so I am not positive).

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

well from the UK...i am always wary of sending things to Italy unless its someone i actually know (ie from here or previously dealt with).

it normally takes about a week airmail from here. should generally be quicker, but tends to pan out to about that on average.

i have also had 2 parcels go missing, which i refunded, and i still believe they actually got there and i had one sent and they didnt get it (tho the right address was on the parcel ) and bizarrely, a month later, it was returned to me!

so yes, now, i make sure sufficient insurance it sorted whether the buyer wants it or not.

Al

ps. no offence to our italian friends btw...

Just to clarify, was that airmail or surface mail?

if it took 40 days odd, that must have been sent surface. no way airmail would take that long from the US.

mind you i have known them to send things wrong at times.....

Can someone start a separate thread for "Questions to Greg" or something? I suppose I could. I'd just like such information to be accessible and not buried in this thead.
So, Greg, I've got a copy of Dreamlands from 1986, product number 2315-X, and I was wondering how rare . . .   :D

I do want to warn everyone: I AM a storyteller and will be glad to share, but I am also generally quite inaccurate about prints runs and so on, and also, have not worked at Chaosium for 7 or more years and am a bit rusty on some things.

Just a heads up for UK Sellers...

PayPal have confirmed that they do not consider Royal Mail to be eligable for their Seller Protection Policy when sending outside of the UK.

PayPal say you are not covered if you ship with Royal Mail at all. This is because Royal Mail offer no trackable service that requires a signature on delivery. They only offer one or the other, and PayPal's terms and conditions require both.

So if you're going to sell something to someone abroad, do one of the following things....

A. Only send something you are willing to accept as a loss.
B. Send with a courier (TNT, DHL, UPS, etc.)
C. Don't accept PayPal payments from overseas customers.
or D. Only sell to someone you know.

You should also know that PayPal Seller Protection only applies to the US, the UK and Canada. All other parts of the world are excluded. If you send outside of the UK, US and Canada, you do so at your own risk.

Everything I encounter about the English postal system makes "going postal" in the US seem so much better.  It really makes me appreciate the US Postal Service.

Having spoken to yours, and to mine, on the phone, I have to say the UK Customer Service offered by our postal service, sucks big time.

thing what makes it all the more laughable tho, is that being such a small island, it would be EASY to implement other systems, such as what the US have and would be far more useful for all n sundry, but as is with the usual UK way, we wouldnt fecking have a chance in hell of getting it.

same as what happened times gone by with the modem speeds etc. BT our main telecomms company wouldnt adjust because they had a stranglehold on the market. it was only when the laws came in to break their monopoly that we started to get faster speeds...

postal system is very similar.

Naw. The labour unions wouldn't have it. Can't go making things better or they'll go on strike. And as for 'missing in the mail'... Well if you work in an office you steal photocopy paper and highlighers. So why shouldn't they steal post?

Well, has any postal worker over there actually 'gone postal'?

And it sucks that other countries don't adopt the same policies for shipping, I can now understand why people won't ship overseas, or only to certain countries.
