Howdy Folks,

Put this here for discussion. Rob and I have been planning this auction for last Sunday but had to postpone it until tommorrow.

See the classified section for details:

Paul---

What additional detail can you provide about these:

Unpub. Ms. D&D Supplement V: Kalibruhn 1975!
WG5 Lost City of the Elders Manuscript 1973!
Original El Raja Key Castle 11 Levels 1973!
Original Greyhawk Castle Maps 7 Levels 1973!

They sound very enticing!

Oh, and why no love for DWP in your otherwise loquacious listings? :D :D

Well, I didn't notice this when it first got listed, but I will say I am a bit disappointed to see this up for auction again:

Heya Brian,

Rob wrote up three of these for the last auction and that's it. I don't like them so much but Rob was keen on them in the first auction. Rest assured there will be no more of them offered.

The text is up now, ask if you have any questions. I personally think the Supplement V: KALIBRUHN is pretty dang cool. El Raja Key is absolutely incredible - spent a lot of time poring over those levels and notes as Rob recounted adventures therein. I have a PC who has been to the Lost City of Elders - trust me - you do not want to go in there! The Greyhawk levels too, man Rob really made some wicked cool dungeon levels.

About the DWP, it's all about building excitement gradually until the crescendo at the end.

Selling that is a HORRENDOUS idea. Imagine how the person who bought the first one feels now!

This is why I don't usually buy "personal" items. Too easy to duplicate.

Kinda looses creditability, just wait for the next copy to come up!

Howdy,

As stated, only three. No more. Two have already been sold so this is the last.

Didn't another set of Arrarat character sheets go up last round?

Don't want to offend anyone, but I have to agree that this commoditized item sale crosses the line IMO.

The problem becomes that, unless you hold the original, there is nothing preventing other copies from being produced. I know Rob says only 3 will be produced, but that is just his word. Since I don't know him personally.............

Crosses what line? I can't make a judgement because I don't have all of the information. What was disclosed in the previous auction(s)? Was the fact that additional copies had been made disclosed at that time?

You'd have to ask Stephen (bombadil). I believe he bought the first Arrarat.

Well let me pipe in because it was my post that started this.  At the time that I won the Robilar sheet in the last round of RJK auctions there was nothing indicating that there was more than one sheet avcailable, which is why I was really pumped to have gotten it for ~$60 or $70.  I knew going in that it was not an original, but I was not aware of any others that were being sold and it was never communicated to me directly or in the auction description as such.  Now to make matters even worse, I find out that this is not even the second copy being sold, its the third copy.  This of course means that the second place bidder on the auction that I won last year, must have gotten a second chance offer.  Well, what can I say I got porked. :?

Why not make copies of YOUR copy and sell them?
At this rate, in a year or so, we can all have copies of copies of copies of the original copy of the copy of the character sheets of the people who first played D&D.

Howdy,

Only one Robilar sheet was sold. The second was given to someone for free by Rob. That leaves only the one listed in the auction as available.

Honestly, it was clearly stated as a replica, there are only 3 in existence, they are handwritten by Rob, and the come with a signed and numbered letter of authentication. Sounds like a pretty good collectable to me.

My perspective comes from this point: I see no value whatsoever in personal collection items from "industry celebs."

From my standpoint, I have to agree with Brian. If I bought something that I "percieved" as a one of a kind, I'd prefer it to stay that way.

Now I do see the "interest" in such items. I just don't see why anyone would pay more that few dollars for such items. That is just my personal opinion. But for those of you who do value such items, there has to be a certainty that they are actually one-a-kind items and that the originator is not going to produce more.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!
