Common sense sort of lead me to that deduction. Was it a typo? I've seen quite a few of those on eBay.

Yes, I assume the seller wrote 7,95 instead of 7.95, and in these cases eBay ignores the comma, becoming 795. It happened to me once, when I placed a bid of 10,50 instead of 10.50 and eBay put a maximum bid of 1050 dollars. I was very quick to retreat the offer.

The same thing has happened to me too, for a small $4565 bid  8O but it was 2s before the auction end and I was unable to change my bid... I gain the bid of course for $112 !!!  :roll:  I will never bid again through ebay.com

Uhm... that might be useful for those damn US auctions ending past 4 in the night (GMT +1) that at times make me get late at work, but in the end I think that bidding manually is preferrable. And funnier, of course.

Sniping is the best way I have found to protect myself from...myself.  I have been experimenting with what I call "bristling," but a good, logical snipe might be the best way for me on everything.
