Does anyone know how to retrieve the hidden text in M1 without having the invisible ink pen? In the alternative, is there a copy of the hidden text on the 'net somewhere? Thanks!

I've heard lemon juice works. Not sure though.

You can also try at www.leemagicpen.com or more specifically here on their page:

http://www.leemagicpen.com/catalog/default.php?cPath=49

They are the originators of the invisible ink items that were really popular  back in the early 80's and before. :)

Oh, and there is also this:

I am not sure if it was ever completed though.

http://www.angelfire.com/games/blizzardspass/ has the info from Mike Shipman's project to reveal the module contents.  I wasn't able to dig up other sites on google with some quick searches.

Thanks for all of your posts.  :)

I recently read an old thread about this on Dragonsfoot. Egg of Coot wrote that black light would make the hidden text visible. Several people, I think Frank's name was mentioned from an old post here, noted that the hidden text wouldn't appear with a marker any more, as the old invisible ink breaks down. Perhaps the text won't appear at all . . .

I think I've had enough of hidden text . . ..

FYI, back in '85 I actually bought and used The Maze of the Riddling Minotaur when it first came out. As many other people have noted (here or at DF), the pen provided went dry before the module finished

If you urinate on it and QUICKLY blow-dry it, the text will be revealed.
I've had invisible-ink items that "lost" the text. Not modules, though. But I imagine they might be the same. I think over al long period of time the ink fades.

It seems to me there is a commercial out there for some sort of pens that reveal colors in a coloring book ala invisable ink. I bet you could pick up set at a toy store or something similar. They might work.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

Er...you are using Blizzard Pass and not M1-Into the Maelstrom, right?  :)

Relabel them "Whizzard Pass" and sell them as slightly used. Perhaps you could patent invisible ink mods that only appear when the proper liquid is applied!
I've never understood why invisible ink mods were produced. The things are basically like tissues, use them once and they are no good.
