No need to really say much else about this auction, its says plenty enough on its own. This belongs in a category all by itself.

What was his listing fee?  Because he might as well have donated the money to a charity or flushed it down the toilet.

I think he's in the highest insertion-fee category, which is, IIRC, about $5. It's the final-value fees that will kill him if someone throws in a bid, even as a joke.

This is from the text in the ad:

Even if it was a 1st printing why so much?  Pretty ordinary stuff.

I was wondering the same...is the 2E Tome of Magic really rare or something?  I gotta know!  Someone with Int higher than me answer!

That Deities & Demigods book does weird things to people.  Anytime I list the 128 page book I get the Cthulhu question.  Doesn't seem to matter what I say in the ad.

My guess for this sorry lot is that someone thinks they are getting the D&D book with the Cthulhu mythos.  Oops.

8O Um...do you actually know people that are willing to pay $1500 for one with the Cthulhu mythos?  I just might be persuaded to sell.

Who said Dungeon magazines aren't valuable? Check out his bidding frenzy. Where will it all end?

I just a sold a few issues in the last few days - single issues in the 5-10 range and a single lot from around 20-50. They did extremely well. The #5 went for more than $20 which was a shock.

It seems Dungeons that are in great condition and in the 1-50 range do sell well as of late. The exception is issue #1. I tracked two of them this week and both sold for  $20 or less!

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

I wish...  I picked up two in VG condition at once at my local comic book store for $3 apiece about a year ago.  The store didn't know what they were, really, and couldn't understand why I wanted them, LOL (they carry some 3.x/d20, but really don't do used as a rule).  If I could sell them at $1,500 each, that would be what, a 49,999% profit, LOL.

On the other hand, I do remember a time when my FLGS was selling them for $300.  Maybe we're about to go into another period when these will be desirable.  If that's the case, one of mine is definitely out the door.

Lot cheaper than going through Paizo.com.  Issues 1 - 15 are $25 apiece and 16 - 50 are $15 apiece.  Anything after than is $10, $12, or cover once you get into the 100's.

Course you could just download issues 1 - 150 in .pdf format for free using Bit Torrent or some other peer-to-peer download application....but that would be illegal (unless you already owned them all).

Yeah...this one is a bit suprising, especially since I've got 3 bidders over $45!  8O Plus within about 24 hours of listing it...it was already up to $40! Go figure! Oh...and here's the lot where they came from... :D

Nice :)

Good to see since your Dark Tower went for less then the one that came right after.

Well....that DT was not in the best condition to be sure. A few weeks ago I had an I13 sell for about $8, while it was sandwiched between 2 others which went for over $30 each! (one was BC's if I remember). THat one was much more painful.

Did I...did I miss something here?

My favorite part is that the winning bidder topped himself to make sure he didn't get outbid again.

We must all be missing something.  I wouldn't give $20 for the whole bunch.  Weird.

I seriouslly rofl when I read that "a character sheet that has the edges burned to look old" remark.  That description is priceless.
