Gus Landt wrote:The auction doesn't use the word Orange anywhere in it.  Maybe he just used a stock picture of the Orange version?  Or maybe he really didn't know what he had. Would be cool if it were true.  Find of the century!  :D

He does mention that it is by "Jean Wells" -- the green was written by Jean Wells and Tom Moldvay IIRC.

Well said. Just a baffling lack of research or knowledge on the seller's part ... unless ... unless ... you don't think he dropped a zero, do you? In other words, $500, not $50?

Anyway, it's a great score. I have a feeling this one will go down as a legendary buy that we're still talking about years from now.  :)

Thanks all.   Received it a few days after I made the payment.

I did not realize it was only up 9 minutes (how can you tell that?) but basically I woke up clicked on ebay and there it was.

It was not exactly what i would call mint as there are a few creases on the spine of the cover but they are visible in the pictures and were no suprise at least.

In any case its nice to have something that was never released to the public and banned because of racey sexual innuendos:

man holding steak to dog = penis!
statue of woman with robe = penis!
goblins poking woman = penis!
dragon with lance = penis!
man/woman diving to grab a torch = penis!
and last but nut least the 3 women in the chamber being stalked by the evil dude whos penis looks like a short sword!

"What can I get for $10?"

"Mint Rare and Shrinkwrapped-just pick that bar of soap up for us pls, we love you long time!"

The find of the year; maybe the last three years. Hell, maybe it's the best find ... [switching to announcer's voice] ... of all time!

Congrats.  :)    :!:  8O  :)

This is from the text in the ad:

DEITIES AND DEMIGODS is not the original one no Elric

Even if it was a 1st printing why so much?  Pretty ordinary stuff.

Castles is not even complete.  These 3-D building sets TSR put out are kind of neat but once they are used they are somewhat valueless.

No need to really say much else about this auction, its says plenty enough on its own. This belongs in a category all by itself.

... I'll add that that it's not every day you see a 0-feedback guy with a 50-percent positive ratio. :)

Other than that, though, it does sort of speak for itself. That listing is a waste of valuable electrons.

I'd say it's a super rare listing in poor condition :!:

I note in his listing he says "This is a very very rare collection that cost me a whole lot to aquire, serious bidders only"

Perhaps he paid $1,500 for the remarkably rare collection up for offer. He should try Sothebys rather than Ebay
